I've been witnessing it for a decade, but I still don't understand how personality cults work. I observe it working on seemingly otherwise normal people, but I just can't understand how to model the members of the cult.

Trying to avoid too much horserace poll reporting. It's not really useful to know what the current predictions are when we're gong to know in a week or so anyway.

Bernie Sanders: "If you believe as I do that Donald Trump is the most dangerous president in the history of the United States, we need to get rid of that rubber stamp Republican leadership in the House and Senate."

People writing off Sara Nelson's new media project are too busy laughing and mocking. We need to be creating our own new media to counter it. I'm neither a content creator nor a journalist, but I do see some of the problems with current media environment on my own side.

Reaching the youths might require short form video. But reaching those who still like the written word need something edgier that acknowledges the real problems Seattle has by discussing the tradeoffs and doesn't reduce people to their position in the privilege hierarchy.

The City Council Puppets were great. We need something like that again. Something that's fun and subversive. Something people seek to consume. Something that tells us something how Seattle works while being interesting and shareable.

I can't believe were in day 4 of "is a very configurable and versatile tool worse than single purpose tool if we don't know who helped work on it with the granularity of knowing where its giraffe is from?"

If AI can detect AI writing, can't someone spin up an agent that takes a piece of writing and iteratively have it reword things until it looks human?

I'm glad that Joy Hollingsworth, with backing from Dionne Foster and Deborah Juarez, did address the sign that spelled Kettle with 2 extra K's. She had said at the time that she would address it, and I thought she had forgotten.

In the past, I'd look at The Urbanist, but they only endorse those who return their questionnaire. Then I'd look at The Stranger. Now I get much better view into the endorsement landscape. The only thing missing are The Groups who are single issue, and If probably with lightly anyway.

Trump used to lie that under Obama and/or Biden, "the military ran out of bullets" but now he's done this

The US military fired roughly 19 years’ worth of Patriot interceptor purchases in just seven months of Trump’s Iran War, the Center for Strategic and International Studies estimates.

Yes, I grew up there. I remember Ernie von Schledorn--Main Street in Menomenee Falls from before Eric Schledorn inserted himself into the jingle.
