This, in the post below is where you can find my music. I will do my best to describe it in as few words as possible. If you should see this on Bandcamp Friday or any other day, I would massively appreciate the direct support, if you enjoy it. Please read on...

In March 2023 I released "Daring the Darkness" and introspective and sombre album written at a time in my life when I needed a change, I was afraid, I was unsure of what the future held. I needed people to know there were things I couldn't say outloud. Perhaps you know how I felt?

Rest in Peace Mr Walter Koenig. Thank you for playing one of the best science fiction characters of all time - Alfred Bester, Babylon 5.

It sort of reminds me of the music from the 80s film "Legend". I didn't intend this but that's absolutely fine! Do you hear it too?

Imagine a tune... Imagine that tune were to be inspired by Vangelis, Tangerine Dream and Nine Inch Nails. Now Imagine trying to find that connection on social media, where sharing music, positivity and kindness are seen as negatives. Well here's a tune. kiffie.bandcamp.com/track/requie...

Sometimes, when you're feeling a bit down, it is handy to have a little keepsake of things to remind you that what you make is seen and noticed. So I made this. Thank you @electronicsound.bsky.social for all the support.

Whatcha doin? I'm just sitting here in the car waiting the rain to stop... then it is time to compose this tune I keep humming. Proper ear worm! It goes hmmm hmm hhhhm hmm Catchy? 😆

Basically my music is 2 Unlimited but at half speed... and a lot more melancholic. Hope that helps. 😅 Night all. P.S. 5 album sales a month pays for all my music distribution, tools and visual art subscriptions. If you like synths, I'm your guy.

Selling some of my music on bandcamp today is the reason I have any money at all. Thank you. Truly.

So... it turns out my first ever radio play anywhere, indie or otherwise... was in fact.. the BBC... in November 2020. I didnt even have a bandcamp page when I was played by BBC Introducing. I had no idea. Until today! Sending the team MASSIVE thanks for their support!

Just for fun... exactly 6 years ago to the day, I hastily recorded this little ditty. Strangely upbeat for me and obviously just a private track to learn from. 😁

Morning all! The most Important links to my music and other social / verified profiles are now buttons you can click to take you a magical musical #synthpop and #electronica adventure! #MusicSky #Music Thank you @bsky.app for the update.

I've released 21 albums and 12 EPs in less than 6 years. Some of them make me smile. Some have made it into physical print magazines and national radio. All of them were worth making despite the many errors. The point of this was to grow. To improve. To try. I've loved every second!

It has been really fun to do this, trying to deliberately improve but also having so many ideas that *need* to be out in the world. To think that some people, I've never met, describe some of this music as "magical" is... amazing. Because that's how I feel when I'm composing them. 🤩

But it is important to know something... Some of these albums have also gone completely unnoticed. Perhaps some of that was a lack of confidence, perhaps some of that was because the music just wasn't good enough. Rip it up, start again. Try more. Keep the flame of creativity alive.

In 2020 I recorded a rough track, later it turned into a full track, released in 2021. It was unapologetically about the COVID lockdown in the UK, specifically about people being unable to say goodbye...

If only someone had released an album that combines physics, astrophysics, quantum physics and very human love. I know it sounds far fetched. But surely someone has?

A little while ago, someone bought my album on vinyl. I signed it, and sent them a few extra albums of mine on CD. But, beyond this, and this really touched me, they sent me a message to encourage me and described my music as "magical". I have succeeded in my goal. Thank you.

Just got told the new Carry On Amazon is great. Turns out they meant "Carrie". Oooh Mrs. 🤣

I've had such a busy day today. Some days are like this. I opened my socials and found various DMs from some really lovely and kind people, just proving that there is friendship to be found here. So thank you, and have a really great evening. Talk soon.

What reasons would any artist have to tell other artists to slow down, create less, diminish themselves? Similar to a question I asked earlier, I know the answer to this. And I'm pretty sure you do too. Insecurity leads down the path of jealousy and malice. Don't be like them.

If you like albums... If you like underground,.undiscovered, and are unapologetic towards trends. I am the artist you are looking for. I won't post a link, my bio proves you are not that lazy.

Last year I released a short run signed vinyl album - sold out. For an indie artist with no PR team this is amazing! I've had some ask me to do another run... but I can't afford to take the risk. Sure my digital sales are ok, but vinyl is another beast. Would you like a signed record?

I don't expect everyone to like my music. Far from it in fact. If my music gained a million streams tonight I would assume I need to make better music. I'm here making music for the people like me. Sensitive. Kind. Thoughtful. Knowledgeable. Is that you?

They say a song is new to someone if they haven't heard it. 3 years ago I released 'A Sense of Unease'. The title track tackled a different theme to the rest of the album. Turning romantic love into something more like pleading for peace. It was written as a dedication to the people of Ukraine...

inspired by one news reel where an elderly lady was being evacuated and she worried about where her granddaughter was. She worried about her "Svitlanka".

I listened to a track today. It was on the profile of one of these 500,000 views, 1000 likes, generic engagement stuff. The track was one looped chord synth from a sample pack. With one 4 note melody from another sample pack over the top of it. What do you make of that?

Just an intro... here are the lyrics... "All I have is a passport, But not the one to your heart, All I need is a pay-cheque, But I am forever in your debt." Massive thanks to @mightylyng.bsky.social for writing such lovely reviews of the album on Penny Black, I'll link to that in the comments

Perhaps this is why my music sometimes feels like an electronic folk ballad... it is in that same tradition, which is probably no surprise actually considering my background.

Creating, recording and releasing music brings me a great deal of joy, happiness and hope. Although the content of my songs can feel heavy, dark and melancholic... they exist as moral tales, look how things could be, what do we have to do to prevent it?

I'm not saying everyone needs some Kiffie music in their lives... but I am sure that some people might be soothed by knowing they aren't alone, that human music and meaning can still exist. If that is you, then I'd love to introduce you to it.

Another busy day for me. Managed to spend a couple of hours composing though. I hope you have all had a good day so far. Happy Wednesday 😊 #MusicSky

Could some of the bots who've followed me and precisely 10 other people all called variations of "oceanjames267" repost my pinned post at least. I promise my music is entirely about American politics, dog moms, god fearing, and all the artwork is Donald Trump related. Also if you could buy it? 🤣

"Every accusation is a confession" is truly a masterpiece of human psychology. And so accurate too. Anyway. Today I recorded 3 instrumental tracks. I helped people in my day job. I also found time to hit the pool for some me time. Here's to a better Internet without wankers.
