Java 28 is already shaping up to be an exciting release! ☕ Value Objects ⚡ Faster startup with AOT compilation 🧵 Structured Concurrency 🗑️ Smarter ZGC 📦 A native JSON API (finally!) The JVM just keeps getting better 🔥 jdk.java.net/28/release-not… #Java #OpenJDK

I finally got to see @stackdpodcast.bsky.social co-host and old friend @dhinojosa.bsky.social talk about the #PomodoroTechnique at @dev2next.bsky.social. I've been using it in conjunction with #gtd for years, but a refresher is always helpful. Great talk!

We’ve spent years modernizing #Java apps. Still on #RichFaces (EOL 10 years)? Our RichFaces migration replaces it with #PrimeFaces or a JS frontend and upgrades the stack using #OpenRewrite, AI coding agents, and senior expertise. virtua.tech/services/ric... #jsf #jakartaee #javaee #primefaces
Totally digging #Quarkus #Roq's draft feature; you can build portions of your site that are visible only at development-time only (or in a particular environment): iamroq.dev/docs/basics/...
Finally got around to hooking up the #Nozbe (task manager) MCP server to all of the coding agents (plus the web/desktop #ChatGPT and #Claude clients). Docs: nozbe.com/mcp/. Nozbe, like many apps, already had a robust REST API so this was possible before; just a little easier now.
When I first saw #JetBrainsAir, their new agentic development environment, I knew this was the direction #JetBrains needed. I'm glad to see Air improve and I'm excited to see it is now the centerpiece of their strategy: blog.jetbrains.com/blog/2026/09...
Upgrading mission‑critical apps was slow and costly; #ai tools plus senior experts change that. If your frontend uses deprecated tech and embeds business logic, we can assess options, pick the best path, and migrate with our #RichFaces Migration Service: virtua.tech/services/ric...

We're using #Quarkus #Roq (iamroq.dev ), a wonderful static site generator. I love the type-safetey. Here's what #Claude just told me about Qute, the templating engine: "That's a nice property of this setup — a bad template expression can't reach production. "

At virtua.tech, we've spent years on #Java modernization and now offer repeatable services, starting with our new #RichFaces Migration Service. If you (or your apps) still run discontinued RichFaces, we can help: virtua.tech/services/ric... #jsf #jakartaee #javaee #primefaces
Many critical business systems still run on outdated #Java libraries, frameworks, and JVMs. I’ll be at @dev2next.bsky.social exploring how #OpenRewrite and #AI can modernize mission‑critical apps. Join me: www.dev2next.com/schedule Ticket prices go up after tomorrow. Grab yours today!
We've used #Harvestapp for time tracking for over a decade. After #BendingSpoons bought them — a company known for buying firms, cutting staff and sharply raising prices (see #Evernote, #Vimeo) — we got notice that in under 10 days our plan will switch to one that is 10× our current cost.

We often see poor mapping when migrating #RichFaces to #PrimeFaces; you can’t just swap <rich:dataTable> for <p:dataTable>. Migration is rarely as simple as it seems, so we offer full-service migration with #OpenRewrite recipes, #AI coding #agents, and expert guidance. virtua.tech/services/ric...
Back from vacation, I caught up on email, projects, and tasks with a #gtd weekly-ish review. The #Spark email client (sparkmailapp.com) is a big help. It groups senders and filters newsletters/notifications, keeping important emails in focus while making others easy to process.

I'm not a hardware guy, but I've watched NVIDIA's rise from afar. I recently watched #NVIDIA founder/CEO Jensen Huang’s #GTC keynote and was blown away by the scale of #AI hardware. Even though I primarily use #ClaudeCode, I use multiple coding agents. One of my favorites is #ampcode (ampcode.com ) from #sourcegraph. I've been following them since their initial coding assistant, Cody. The future belongs to agents that don't tie you to specific frontier models.
