I wouldn't say I'm particularly loving life right now. But I'm glad I didn't kill myself. I'm glad I left a record so I can look back and remember what I survived

And if I had, I'd have missed out on some great moments. I'm struggling with being suicidal again now but I'm trying to remind myself how much worse it was before. How I would have missed out on so many friends and so much love

I could explode with pride. My neighbor friend in my group on Outlier beat me today. I am bursting with pride. I'm so fucking delighted, dude. This is what highschool football coaches feel like.

Our local neighborhood team is consistently in the top ten on the global leaderboard. This is the first day I haven't finished in first place. I'm literally bursting with pride. I just could cry I'm so happy about it. Damn. We are so fucking weird about words.

Did I mention that I hated the new Carrie series so much that it's retroactively making me dislike other Flanagan projects that I used to love?

I need to stress: taking away Carrie's agency in the prom night scene is infantilizing and infuriating and cowardly. I hate this

I get why we had this push for "actually you can understand why this fmc did this" with stuff like Cruella and Maleficent but like Carrie was already monstrous and sympathetic. I just despise this

Hell, even the impulse to include Ghost Dad Visions feels like a way to remove agency and villainy from Margaret, who is WEIRDLY softened in this compared to the book

I'm sorry I'm still on this, how do you make the school shooter connection in ep 1 and then never follow through because you can't actually engage with the monstrous female character archetype like no. No. I'm so angry at the production and the audience lack of media literacy

I need to start raising rent. I have no idea how bad things are going to be with patreon next month. I genuinely do not know if I will be able to keep my apartment after next month or if I'll need to find a place to live. Any small bit or share helps #mutualaid #helpsky #urgentneed

Like not to be that guy but I actually think taking away Carrie's agency and making her this pure, blameless victim who has never had a violent or selfish thought ever is actually crazy misogyny

I've always had sympathy for Carrie as a character, but I think if you need to cast a pretty actress you want to protect and also keep Carrie from ever purposefully doing anything that might make the audience uncomfortable that kinda reveals more about you than the character

It's hard to tell if people these days would have been able to relate to a Carrie with agency and actual, potent female rage, an imperfect victim and murderer. Maybe the choice to soften her into a more palatable victim appeals to more people. It just felt regressive to me
