Finally got the nacelles together for the DBMK Hornet. I pre-painted the area around the exhaust to make them easier to mask for the main painting. Once I can get the brake lines installed (still waiting on some wire...), I can get them installed, and that will complete the major airframe assembly.

Another weak excuse for a Hornet update today, sadly. Nacelles and landing gear painted and installed, and I'm just awaiting some wire to finish off the brake lines. In the meantime, the exhausts have also been painted, ready for installation. Hopefully a more substantial update next time! #dbmk

Here's a token update on the DBMK Hornet, with the vertical fin blended into the fuselage. The gaps were filled with my customary CA/talc mix, and most of the excess was removed using CA debonder, rather than sanding. Now to finish off the nacelles! #scalemodels #histscalemodels #dbmk #hornet

A bit of work involved to get the Hornet's fin and rudder installed. The rudder had a long sink mark at the bottom of each side, while there was also an alignment pin on the fin that had no corresponding hole in the fuselage. Next step is to deal with the gaps and fair it all in. #scalemodels #dbmk

Time for another DBMK Hornet update. The horizontal tailplanes have been installed, and I've also managed to complete the starboard landing gear assembly. I've now got it glued into one side of its nacelle, and will prime and paint everything prior to joining the nacelles. #scalemodels #dbmk

Token update on the DBMK Hornet today, with a bit more work done to sort out the various panel joins on the underside, along with making a start on the nacelles. I've also been working on the empennage, and got some primer on the excellent 3D-printed exhausts. #scalemodels #histscalemodels #dbmk

Exhibit A: as soon as I had published the major v2.0 update of A Modeller’s Guide to the Junkers Ju 388 Volume One, a small number of errors were spotted, and have now been corrected.

A tiny bit of progress with the DBMK Hornet, with initial work done on fairing in the nose gun panel. Hoping to push this build forward during some down time between book projects! #scalemodels #histscalemodels #dbmk #hornet

Not much time at the workbench this last week or so, but I did manage to eke out a little progress on the DBMK Hornet. The focus was on fitting the nose gun panel. The next step will be to get it faired in to the fuselage. #scalemodels #histscalemodels #dbmk #hornet

My wife found this little Corgi Hurricane (Corgicane?) at a market during a trip away recently, but it was missing its display stand, so I knocked up a new one, quick'n'dirty style. Don't need the Kotare kit now.

While the DBMK Hornet is still my primary current build, I've just thrown this one into the "Winging It" Group Build on LSP. It's one of LukGraph's older resin kits, and as far as I can tell, it's long out of production. Some challenges lie ahead! #scalemodels #histscalemodels

DBMK Hornet update. The cockpit is finished, and the fuselage is now joined. No demons so far, though a test-fit of the nose cone shows there'll be a gap to fill. The contours appear to match perfectly, however, so at least there won't be any steps to deal with! #scalemodels #histscalemodels #DBMK

Finally finished up the assembly and installation of the seat harness for the DBMK Hornet, with the seat itself now also installed in the cockpit. Just a few more elements to install and the cockpit will be finished, and I'll be able to finally close up the fuselage. #scalemodels #histscalemodels

Got the instrument panel finished and test-fitted on the DBMK Hornet. Just need to finish assembling the seat harness, and then I can call the cockpit done! #scalemodels #histscalemodels #dbmk #hornet

Some progress on the DBMK Hornet cockpit today. I've done my best to make the all-black interior look as interesting as possible without going overboard. The only thing I've added is some placard decals from airscale and Anyz. Still a long way to go, however! #scalemodels #histscalemodels #dbmk

I've finally been able to push the DBMK Hornet off the starting line, with some preliminary construction work in the cockpit. I'm assembling as much as practicable before applying paint. The blue-grey components are 3D-printed parts. So far, so good! #scalemodels #histscalemodels #dbmk #hornet
