Reposting some design work from X to Bluesky (sorry if you’ve seen it before!) This is one of our most heavily used components, coming with the new Daybridge iOS design language shipping in V1 - really happy with how it turned out! #design #ux #ui

I love Claude Code and Opus is incredible, but man they really should stop bragging about it being vibe coded - it's a damning indictment of vibe coding. By far the most glitchy AI software I have used.

Stopped using ChatGPT because the tone of voice was so off putting, it sounds like a millennial pretending to be Gen Alpha. “I’ll explain it to you. No bloat, no drama, just vibes” making sand think was a mistake

dax@thdxr.com

man i really hate chatgpt's tone why does it sound like a threadboy "you'd think blah blah, right?" "but here's the truth" "blah blah"

Beautiful!

v1.109 is rolling out today! #NewProfilePic We've given the app a mini makeover with some new shades of blues! Plus, a whole bunch of bug fixes and performance improvements to make your experience better.

I'm trying to understand why the profiler says a component is re-rendering because 'the parent component rendered' when the parent definitely didn't render? It's wrapped in React.memo and none of the props are changing (or I presume it would say so?) Paging @ricky.fm @danabra.mov 🙏

I love living in London, I’ve been here for nearly 10 years. It might be the best city in the world. The far right hate it because it’s living proof that multiculturalism works and that different cultures can coexist and thrive. Trump and DHH hate it because it disproves their narratives.

technology used to be cool, but now it’s owned by the worst, most moneysick humans on the planet. but there are transsexual furry hackers out there still fighting the good fight

I mean, our brains do the same thing only with a biological substrate instead of a silicon substrate. LLMs are “probability machines” but their output is based on a real, acquired understanding of the world from a training data set. Different to humans but still arguably thinking.

Gergely Orosz@gergely.pragmaticengineer.com

Amusing how 99% of people using LLMs forget how these things work: They are advanced probability machines. They generate the next most likely token (word) based in the input and their training. Under the hood, it’s a giant matrix multiplication that has eerily good output.

In the UK we should do anti-honours. And the first person to get an anti-Knighthood should be whoever removed all of the fucking padding from the seats on the trains and replaced them with ironing boards.

Biggest red flag for AI generated text is excessive use of present participles 🚩 "highlighting the importance of", "underscoring the relevance of", "avoiding the risks of", "emphasising the need for" etc

Really like this actually. Currently the selected tab in liquid glass looks atrocious - this would be a better approach.

Lmao StackOverflow mods are going through and closing questions I asked 10 years ago. They shall not rest until they have eliminated every question on the platform.

I’ve seen an uptick in people on LinkedIn posting pictures of sick relatives and using things like relatives’ cancer diagnoses for content. It’s kinda nauseating tbh.

I don’t know how I would have got through my recent surgery without LLMs available as a tool, some of the medical concepts were really difficult to understand. They were able to give me confidence I was making the right call.

Grateful I get to be a new parent in the age of LLMs Instant, always on, functionally unlimited access to humanity's synthesised advice and research on newborns. They've coached me through sleep schedules, lactation issues, health concerns, and generally been a great emotional support system.

Fantastic news that UK passport holders will be able to use ePassport gates in Europe again. It always struck me as unfair that EU passport holders could use these in the UK but not the other way around.

Do you respond to “Alright now fellas?” or “OK now ladies?” in OutKast’s “Hey Ya”? That is the only gender recognition certification that I need to see.

Parting ways with my non-functional kidney in a couple of weeks! Fortunately my other kidney has already grown in size and taken over the work. Send your surgery tips 🤕
