Lets support the next generation of #climate defenders by showing up at Sydney Town Hall this Saturday. Look out for us #Knitting #Nannas in our distinctive yellow T- shirts & come say hi.

Nannas Bron, Eury (and Gayle) spoke w NSW MP Jo Haylen yesterday looking for last minute action from Labor on unfulfilled 2023 election #environment #climate pledges. Nannas value & encourage candid & respectful engagement with our MP’s and support peaceful #climateaction “for the kiddies”.

Big & little Swiftie (also known as Nanna Bron) landed at NSW Parliament this morning “There’s only around 500 of us left in the world” they chirped “but Whitehaven Coal is proposing to cut down 50,000 of our homes in the Leard State Forest.” 😢 Keep Swifties from extinction (also Nanna Bron) 👀🧵.

Supersized heat waves used to be rare. No longer. A Reuters data-driven examination of global temperatures reveals the emergence of what we call heat storms. They now swarm the planet, upending life around the world. reut.rs/4zBUXtM

Former Supreme Court Judge says the NSW Government have “effectively ignored what I would call respect for the rule of law by overriding it.” …”It is, on the face of it, reprehensible". Let your MP know that the approaching NSW state election is no excuse to trash our #climate and ⬆️ pollution

abc.net.auRetired judge lashes NSW decision to rewrite laws to support coalmineA former Supreme Court Judge says a NSW government plan to draft special laws for a Hunter Valley coalmine "obliterates" the legal process and should be independently reviewed.

#Coal fired Chris at it again.

A contemptuous decision by idiot NSW premier Chris Minns to alter state laws reversing high court coal mine expansion decision. Sue Higginson: one thing is clear, under Labor the coal mining giants are writing the laws reneweconomy.com.au/coal-lobby-a...

Blue Mountains Nannas met up with citizen scientists, Julie and Chris near Lithgow, NSW, for water quality 🧪 & results showed Centennial Coals 'washery' = salinity level 3000µS/cm which means metals like cadmium, arsenic, zinc and nickel, are being dumped into Sydney’s drinking water supply….1/2

Tomorrow Labor will put forward yet another energy policy that protects gas corporation profits instead of getting Australians a good deal. But you don’t have to take my word for it. This morning even industry reps are calling out Labor’s capitulation to big gas:

If the NSW government REALLY cared about coal workers it would pass the Future Jobs and Investment Bill - which they have delayed since March. It’s a transition plan for workers as mines close because everyone (except our Government it seems) knows time’s up for coal & gas.

Nannas, Lock the Gate and 150+ outside NSW Parliament today to tell MP’s that time for more coal and gas is up! Around 150 people & 🙏🏻 many speakers including Jeremy Buckingham Chair of the NSW Joint Standing Committee on Net Zero Future, Dr Kim Loo Chair of Drs for the Environment, Green MP’s.

Can you see yourself at NSW Parliament House taking #climateaction? How about tomorrow between 11am & 1pm? Nannas, Lock the Gate and friends will be welcoming back MP’s w a reminder of their 2023 election (?!) promises on the environment. #CoalFiredChris #FutureJobsBill #overexcited See you there!

Meet master knitter and textile artist Nanna Steph. She’s speaking at an IPC hearing in Mudgee this week cause she thinks clean drinking water for rural & regional communities is a no brainer. Steph joined Knitting Nannas for the fiber but stays for the stiched on support. 🧵1/3

Another great opportunity to use your Opal card in an off peak period. Join us, Lock the Gate and others at NSW Parliament House Tues 13th October to remind #Coal fired Chris that as Labor seats in the Hunter are looking shaky - now is the time pass the Future Jobs and Investment Bill. We show up!

Nanna Tracey says thank you to Pacific Island Students Fighting Climate Change at Pre-COP 31. #PISFCC were part of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) finding that countries must address the "urgent and existential threat" of climate, or risk paying compensation to those carrying the burden.
