Current knitting project is too complex for this game! Started the 2nd sock of a pair; 1st has been finished for over a year. Looks like the stripes are going to match well enough!

SO decided the baseball game was "boring" and went off to his suite 3 hours ago! It was a little slow, but what a great game by the Brewers. And SO was watching/listening to it - we texted updates for the last 2 hours. What a game!

Can someone please help me understand why morning me thought it was a good idea to wash comforters, blankets, afghans, and curtains today? Afternoon me is pretty sure I've taken leave of my senses.

Midweek update: - lots of knitting, including a new project for socializing - watched football and lots of PBS stuff - can't wait for baseball tomorrow! - laundry (so much laundry) washed, dried, folded, hung up, put away - boring dinners - gorgeous autumn color; best I've ever seen

Monday update: - chatted with contractor about door and window trim - appt with sleep center, next one in 18 months! - laundry, as always - halibut and sheet pan veggies (acorn squash, baked potato, carrots, red onion, broccoli, green pepper) for dinner - watched baseball and football - knitting

3 day weekend update: - got a much needed pedi 💅 - laundry (what's new?) - made chicken cacciatore, more or less, in the crockpot - lots of knitting on the current sweater🧶 - watched lots of sports: baseball ⚾️, hockey🏒, football 🏈, Nascar🏁 - read my book - organized project bits, quilt fabric

SO got all the buttons off my denim jacket using a Dremel and some rather choice language I've never heard from him on more than 30 years! Sadly they left little holes that will need repair before I can attach new buttons, but hey, that can just be more embellishments, right?

Chilly, breezy morning and the sun is starting to peek through the clouds. I'm drinking tea while SO removes ugly riveted buttons from a denim jacket I bought to embellish with embroidery. He's headed to his shop for better equipment - I love his willingness to do this without telling me I'm nuts.

Congratulations! Friday’s eve is upon you! What a week this has been right?! Well, you have done very well & are almost to the end of your weeks journey. Not much longer to go. So, stay steady & keep your pace. Let’s go! Be careful. Be safe. Be shiny. Be glimmer. Be you to the full. Take no shit.

Thursday update: - contractor finished replacing siding and painted 1st coat - knitted almost 6" on thr sweater front at knitting group - efiled my 2025 fed taxes (yeah, I waited for a corrected 1099form) - CSA veggie box picked up - watched baseball - browsed Ravelry just because I wanted to

Wednesday update: - contractor started removing bad siding this morning. Hope there's not too much that needs to be replaced. - Knitwits was fun! One member brought her DIL, a mah jongg friend came for cable help, I actually got to knit. - SO had an appt with his kidney Dr; next is in April...

... - picked up our fancy organic chicken, discussed next get together with farmers- breakfast, late lunch, or dinner and drinks. I think we will be friends. - chicken and veggie quesadillas for dinner. Not bad for a first attempt. - baseball!

Tuesday status: - rainy quiet autumn day - great day at mah jongg! First time ever I won 4 games - watched the rain and knitted, listened to classical music with SO - left front of cardigan has most increases complete - watching baseball while SO zooms a ham radio club meeting - texted with my mom

Autumn rain is so different from summer rain - darker, drearier, colder, and almost unpleasant. It rained almost all day and the temptation to stay home and cuddle with a cat and a book was very strong.

Weekend/Holiday update: - finally finished a pair of socks; started maybe 2 years ago - ripped out the whole left side of the cardigan after deciding it would make me happier to do it right than try to fix it - created the Instacart order, put it away - cleaned leftovers out of the fridge ...

... - tried to make appts and other calls, but offices were closed for the holiday - organized SOs prescriptions for the week - SO helped rip out the sweater and his cat watched but didn't touch - watched football, Nascar, and lots of baseball - Guardians and Brewers are playing good baseball!

Ugh. I knitted 2" further before starting the left front v-neck than for the right; ripped back. Then realized I missed the right side slip 1 knit column, do I dropped down and latched it up. That's when I remembered it's slip 1 knit, then purl that stitch on the next row. We're in time out now🧶.

Feeling much better this afternoon. Woke with a headache, which is finally gone, as are the other aches and pains; glad I had nothing planned for the day except knitting, reading, and napping - did quite well at those and GingerSnap totally approved. Beats getting flu or Covid!

Rough night so far. Achy, headachy, stuffy nose (allergies, not vaccine response) causing me to wake every couple of hours. Still, it beats actually getting flu or Covid. Going to try to sleep a couple of hours before I give up. GingerSnap is joining me now.

Thursday stuff: Today was a bit different. Last cataract scan, numbers are good, and tomorrow I can wear contacts again! Took long enough that missed knitting group, so SO and I went to a new-to-us diner for lunch (not impressed) and then picked up the CSA veggie box. Watching baseball now.

Wednesday stuff: - dentist appt to check implant and do scans to create the crown. So much better than the trays of gel stuff - made tostadas for dinner - lots of baseball - bad stuff: I think the metal cover for the implant came off. Will call about replacement, it's sore and crown is 3 weeks out.

Tuesday stuff: - breakfast 🍳out with our farmer friends - supervised new housekeepers 🧹 - mah jongg🀄, where I won 2 games - spinach 🥬salad for dinner - good mail (stitch markers, quilting marking pens) - lots of baseball⚾️ - gonna be an early night...didn't sleep well last night and I'm dragging

Monday stuff: - laundry and more laundry again - prepped excess leeks and carrots for freezer - organized SO prescriptions for the week - trimmed and manicured my nails - started Instacart order - started nuts.com and British foods orders - watched baseball and football

Alright now! It is Monday, but your ready. You’ve been studying. You’ve been planning. Your course is set. Now set your plan into action. Start the forward momentum, by lifting that foot & lean out. There it is. Let’s go! Be careful. Be safe. Be shiny. Be glimmer. Be you to the full. Take no shit.

Sunday report: - laundry and more laundry - broke down more boxes for recycling - organized my vitamins and supplements for 2 weeks - made chicken soft tacos for dinner - watched baseball, football, Nascar - embroidery and knitting - calendar updates, cleaned kitchen desk Ready for the week!

End of week report: - at knitting group I worked on the cardigan front, but forgot to decrease for the v-neck; will be ripping back 2" today. - for "happy hours" I knitted on a sock and a shawl, then embroidered until my shoulder hurt - found more boxes to break down for recycling, also found...

...some items ordered that SO opened and put aside. I'd ordered a couple again so I'm stocked up for the foreseeable future. - ordered local refills of meds we don't get by mail order - pickup Monday or Tuesday - investigated rain gutter covers as SO finally agrees he shouldn't climb ladders

Went out for "Mexican" good last night, against my better judgment. Not terrible - meat was good quality and cooked perfectly - but there was no spice, no chile, no oomph. Pico de gallo tasted of tomatoes and lime juice and nothing else. Sad, because this place is award-winning, but it is NH.

No baseball tonight, and I'm not sure what we'll do for entertainment! Happy hours call is tonight, starting at 10 ET, must spend some time getting supplies together for crafting. Sweater, sock, shawl for knitting. Storm At Sea for hand piecing, current embroidery - that gives me choices.

Last night SO and I had a *discussion* about where the solar panels on our roof actually are. Finally told him to go outside and look up at the roof. Guess what? They're right where I told him they were! Now he's unhappy because he can't blame the location for issues with his ham radio antenna🙄.

SO is so totally ambivalent/uninterested in popular culture - he's not sure who Taylor Swift is, for example - just looked at someone in the stands at the Yankee game and informed me that "Spike Lee goes to a lot of Yankee games". I knew he looked familiar.

Tuesday/Wednesday report: - ophthalmologist appts for us both, cataract stuff - mah jongg where I won a favorite concealed hand - knitwits where I learned a new stitch for pooling yarn, worked on my projects - lots of knitting during baseball games - lots of baseball - quilt project to hand sew

Monday report: - rained most of the day, should stop by 1 am Tuesday - cleaned kitchen - general deep clean, loaded dishwasher, cleaned 1 drawer in fridge of compost - knitting, reading, IMing with my quilting friend - watched football - prepped for tomorrow's appointments - cuddled cats

Weekend report: - lots of baseball, football, Nascar with SO - started the 2nd cardigan front, did all increases, about 8" knit - made pot roast for dinner with lots of garlic - watched the rain, glad we missed the brunt of this storm - Always laundry, it seems - drank tea, simple pleasures

Yesterday and today have proved that, for me at least, there is indeed crying in baseball. Verlander's retirement was emotional. Mike Krukow's was heart-wrenching; I saw him pitch in 1988 and 1989, and listened to him for 36 years as a broadcaster. He is amazing and entertaining - a favorite uncle.

Nor'easter has been pretty much a nothing burger for us so far. We've had rain enough to make a difference on the river level, but no high wind or torrential rain. We're in a lull now until about 9 pm when rain is forecast to be heavy. Apparently having flashlights and batteries deflects the storm.

Friday report: - no appts today! - sorted laundry and there was a lot of it - washed, dried, folded white laundry. Still need to take it upstairs, put it away - made corn and shrimp chowder for dinner - watched lots of baseball - waiting for the nor'easter to arrive

Because of tomorrow's impending bad weather both the Red Sox and Yankees are playing double-headers today. Always surprises me how sports teams can turn on a dime to preserve the season; makes me wonder how they manage the ticketing. If both games are included in 1 ticket - how does that work?

Thursday report: - helped a knitter fix an error and find the correct place in her pattern - ordered a peacock feather fascinator for a friend's 25th anniversary party - finished the right front of the current sweater - watched baseball, cuddled a cat - inventoried freezer before Crowd Cow order

Meant to add a photo! #BlueskySupperClub Made Chicken au Poivre (NYT recipe) tonight. SO really liked the sauce - he's not a big chicken fan - and so did I. Reminded me a bit of my granny's breakfast gravy for biscuits.

Wednesday report: - almost finished the sweater front at Knitwits, but we had cake for a departing director. Cake was quite good. - supervised housekeeper - quilting BOM class on applique, not a fan - made Chicken au Poivre (NYT recipe) for dinner. Really good! - baseball, what else?
