Have been a slug and took a long ass nap and that was glorious. And I have a fridge! Yay! Good birthday even if I didn’t make a cake yet lol.

For my birthday, several months ago, my dad decided I needed a generator. So he bought one. And now he’s annoyed because it wouldn’t be here for today…but more than that, won’t be delivered until March. Probably April. I love my dad. But island time is a THING 🤣

I thought that pic was straighter than it is. Blame vodka, heartburn, and stress.

Have had to adjust our magnet game but nature is healing.

New fridge is surprisingly fancier than expected. Has a window that teen won’t stop tapping because it lights up and you can see what’s in there. Also makes fancy ice?

FINALLY!! New fridge!! Delivered and installed!! Still needs to sit for a day to like actually cool down and all that but omg, literally will be 3 weeks tomorrow and cannot wait!

Am leaning into my Mrs Roper/spite food era by brunching on avocado toast with too many onions in my mumu-adjacent dress.

Buying myself two new books for my bday was a good choice. Spent all day reading and since I’m going to be held hostage waiting for the fridge all day (delivery window is 7am-6pm 🫠), will do the same tomorrow. And will make myself some gf fried calamari and a cake, dammit.

My birthday is Monday and hot damn it’s fucking with my head to the extreme. Am turning the same age as my brother who died at this exact age. I cannot outlive that asshole. I mean, I truly hope I do, but also. Fuck.

Yes. Am fully owned by the corgi. Would not change a thing. We don’t deserve dogs.

Am being held hostage. Am fine with this turn of events.

Nap was glorious. Followed up with gifting myself skipping the bird show I didn’t want to go to anyways and instead working in the garden and planting a few new seeds.

Whoops. Drank too much whilst talking to the BFF because holy shit dating in your 40s is a THING. Anyways. Bird show later and many things to do and bday cakes to plan and yeah. Nap sounds great z🤣🫣

This is not a gecko. I definitely ate this, not the gecko. Poke night, made two kinds, and there is sushi rice under the roe but what can I say, I love the pops of the roe so kind of go hard on it.

Dog just ate a small gecko. Omg. I am horrified, she is incredibly pleased with herself. So much eww.

Made a Spanish tortilla this morning and teen, who claims to hate eggs despite having quiche for breakfast every morning for about 8 years, is about to demolish all of it.

Millie deciding to grumble at the endlessly barking dog directly under me in my comically tall bed just before 6am isn’t my favorite but her noises are pretty funny.

FML. Control board of fridge has been replaced. Still doesn’t work. The fan is dead and the condenser is bad. Cool. Cool. Cool. So fun. Let the property manager know. They’ve not responded. Coooooool.

Also? Fridge is still dead and beeping every 5ish minutes, and still shares the same wall as my bedroom . That does not help with not waking up at 3am. But! Fingers crossed, it should be fixed, finally, today. This move has been a challenge in ways I never anticipated.

Well, well, well 3am we meet again. Wish we’d stop seeing each other like this. But here we are.

My tongue is numb because I munched on too much raw garlic. I have no regrets.

Oh. Neat. Okay. Turns out I didn’t think about the fact that I planted some of the dog’s favorite treats (broccoli, lettuce, and spinach), she is obsessed with the beds and is going to be a pain to keep out lol. Whoops 🤣

Plant babies!! Have broccoli, lettuce, chives, two kinds of cucumbers, spinach, and beefsteak tomatoes popping up already 😍

And yes, because of everything health wise, am finally taking myself to urgent care in the morning. Have had a few telehealth visits, but at this point, I give up. Am actually falling apart and damn I’m tired. Would like to sleep but burning throat is like nah, we’re not doing that.

Can’t sleep, so I’m sitting here ordering more seeds and planning more containers because I’m so excited about how well things are growing. I am a ridiculous person. But dang it, I love my little set up and growing things is pretty dang cool.

Throat is on fire, because OF COURSE, but turns out seeing that a bunch of my seeds have sprouted helps one forget!

So we were already going to be in California for New Year’s Eve - aka my dad’s birthday and subsequent big birthday bash, and after all the recent disasters, decided to go a few days early and be there for Christmas. Haven’t been there for Christmas since 2009, cannot wait!

Protest Unicorn has been deployed to Hawai’i for No Kings! Good turn out here in Hilo, too! Didn’t get many pics, it started to rain and well, an inflatable in the rain is a whole thing.

But upsides to being awake, found the unicorn costume!! It is a requirement for No Kings today, Hawaiian unicorn debut is imminent!!

This baby. I swear. So frigging cute because they were a very tiny demon…and I say that with lots of love, because for real, they were. But again, so damn cute.

My parents went to see Whalefall tonight with a group of friends because while definitely not their normal style of movie, parts were filmed at home, so they felt they had check it out. My mom flipped out at the trailer to Sharknado and has been scared of Jaws for decades lol but okay 🤣 go for it.

And then, I was like where the hell did the corgi go?!? Found her. Again, truly comically tall bed.

No idea where the dog is hiding. None. Not even one clue.

Bestie is currently watching Metallica at the Sphere and sending me pics and videos and I’m so fucking jealous but also so excited for her and love that she’s there. And straight up told her husband that it should be her and I there instead haha.

Garden has been prepped and planted, now it’s the waiting for things to grow and patience isn’t my strong suit. But will try to be so, because omg I can grow food!!

After coming up empty at 4 stores, including Sally’s, ordered alligator clips for teen to re-bleach their hair. Corgi is for scale. Yes, the clips were the only thing in there. Absolutely ridiculous.

Teen took the truck today and well, now they’re sad because they have to fill it on their dime AND do the trash run after work that I was going to do today. But am not putting stinky trash in the Prius. Being lazy is both expensive and leads to more work, as it turns out.
