It takes a full two and a half hours before the original TV version of Salem's Lot looks *anything* like the work of the man who directed it, but when it arrives, I couldn't help but nod and say aloud, "There he is."

Also, I know that this scene is the one my generation remembers from childhood. There's a reason that each subsequent version of the story preserves it. But the scene that gets me as an adult is when Mike Ryerson finds his murdered dog.

Today's morning fright film. New to me. Not significantly different from the version of this story you find in Kwaidan, but for the score by Akira Ifukube. Short, too, which is gratifying because they don't pad things to a longer length.

I am part of this project. I am the artist most likely to cause this project to ship out late (though I hope not; we'll see). Join us, please, and support queer comics. My story is set at carnival in Venice. @kickstarter.com @taramavery.bsky.social www.kickstarter.com/projects/sta...

My story is set at Carnivale in Venice. It's kinda sorta inspired by a couple of Thomas Ligotti stories. I'm doing EVERYTHING by hand as a middle finger to AI. The only computer touch will be scanning it for print. Here's a work in progress page, where I just pray I can trust the process.

Another film a day that I love. The first time I saw this actress in a movie, she was playing a vampire and her voice was dubbed. Imagine my surprise at this film, which is a freaking masterpiece.

Went to see The Wrath of Khan/Space Seed double last night and it was packed. Without commenting on any of the other stuff, I gotta say that the duel in the Mutara Nebula is the most beautiful space battle ever filmed. Just lovely.

I think I need to stop reading comics. For fuck's sake, dude. What the hell are you doing?

Another day, another film I love. I am generally not a fan of the director of this film, but he isn't on my black list because there is a small cluster of his work that tickles me just so. Like this film.

The notion that Dolly Parton would have "liked" the groper in chief is absurd when you consider that she would have turned that rooster into a hen with one shot because he's a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot

I don't think there's another actor who moved so effortlessly between big studio Hollywood and European auteur cinema. I dunno, maybe Kate Hepburn did it, too, but I think maybe not as well. This film has one of the great performances.

This extrapolates to 8.25 million people in the US. This is more people than the entire populations of multiple states in the aggregate. More than montana, South and North Dakota, Nebraska, and Idaho combined, and they get 10 senators and however many reps.
