I existed once. Maybe I still do? (Bi, he/him) An apparently grown man, with a peculiar sense of humour, & interests/tastes all over the place. Rarely makes videos, drawings & other creative stuff. That is not my cat. It is a cat I know. 18+ only please.

I have, in earnest, started my next band deep dive - The Electric Light Orchestra. Gonna take the same approach as with Genesis & jump around albums that look interesting. Started with their self-titled debut album this morning, it's fun. An acquired taste perhaps, but refreshingly experimental.

Been cogitating on gen-Artificial I's use in creative works recently. My overall stance remains. I want real art, created and interpreted by real people. That includes images, audio, words, code, whatever else. If you don't care enough to make it by your own effort, I don't care to engage with it.

Lately it's been creeping in to several things I not only enjoy, but have long respected. Projects I would once have been so excited about, turn out to have been magicked up by a conman. Musicians I have loved for years, even decades, now pointlessly manifesting videos for their songs. It's galling.

I just want people to learn skills and use those skills. Or otherwise, call upon the services of real people who have those skills. Please do not cheapen your craft by giving these charlatans so much as an inch.

Metazooa when the answer is not a fish: "this major clade consists of animals w, x, y and some species of z" Metazooa when the answer is a fish: "this sub-sub-subgroup of fish is so brain-breakingly enormous, the number of species within it can't be quantified on all of the known material on Earth"

Pillowfort shutting down in December. Used it for a year or so as a sporadic blogging space, was a decent little site to use. Honestly impressed they kept it going for as long as they did.

What this means for me is: I now have 2 separate lots of blog posts archived from sites that are no longer online (cohost being the other one). I might try to find somewhere else to put them up, one day. If for no other reason than I would like people to know I existed once.

Done Genesisses so far: - From Genesis To Revelation - (half of) Trespass - Foxtrot - (half of) Selling England - (a bit of) Trick of the Tail - Duke - Abacab - Genesis - Invisible Touch - We Can't Dance - Calling All Stations Two months of fascination and counting. Really enjoying them.

Most recently, I've done Abacab and the self-titled during work today. Abacab I can see growing on me. The self-titled has an amazing first half, then falls right off the cliff with the most ill-advised track I've heard from them, then the rest of it is decent enough.

I know I've fallen off quite a few of the Gabriel/general prog-era stuff there. That's not for want of interest, I genuinely kept being short on opportunity to listen to them. They will all be done in full, in time.

Can't believe we're finally about to wrap production on the Far-Fetched pilot. Just needs a few finishing touches, then it will be done! I'm so proud of our show, and can't wait for you all to see it soon!

What many historians don't know about the antikythera mechanism is that it was manufactured alongside a counterpart device. This was the unclekythera mechanism

Telly on, watching an F1 race at Sepang on an early Sunday afternoon, on free-to-air television. Just like the good old days.

That was pretty good! Plenty of action and drama, tough one to call. Glad that it happened, been a nice reminder of why I got into F1 in the first place.
