Very excited that weightliftinghouse.tv has added Canada to the list of countries they are available in. Now we can watch the World Weightlifting Championships as they happen instead of waiting weeks and months for them to slowly get uploaded to youtube. (Though, that also had it's merits.)

I'm way happier to be giving my money to this little niche channel then say, Rogers, but it is odd that this is my only option. Weightlifting is like, a major olympic sport right? An OG even? They said there are 99 countries represented in this competition.

I can't think of any other sport that I watch that gets 99 countries at a competition.

One of my goals is to get many screen shots of Akbar Djuraev's robe so I can draft a pattern to recreate it. The key to a masterful performance is clearly a badass warm up robe.

Great stream today. We got a raid from @justjoannec.bsky.social then we played some Ultimate Drummer, and the random streamer we chose to raid (EVANLULS) turned out to be a drummer! So it was perfect!

However, I felt really bad about discoveries made during the Ultimate Drummer portion that my Friday Night game regulars missed, so I won't be doing that again. We'll just have to do shorter game streams, or punctuate them with longer guitar breaks to keep me from getting dizzy.

We went on a ramble today to look at people's halloween decorations. And we saw some good decorations. But more importantly, we saw this seal.

Regular times for all the streams this week plus a bonus recording stream! On Wednesday we'll write some theme songs for the Kyla Tilley Show, and on Thursday we'll record them, along with some festive variations. As long as we have no technical difficulties, it should be fun. #music

I may tag a half hour of Ultimate Drummer on each stream so I can explore without getting dizzy. We'll see. Spooooky Season songs on the Warble, and we start off as always, with the Monday Morning Sing Song. See you out there!

How have I not seen the film Knightriders? It seems like...my jam.

We watched 28 Years Later for our Saturday night movie. Top notch.

Oh...There's...two sequels? How did I not know about this?

Playing more Ultimate Drummer tonight. I'm on my first boss fight. This may take some time... twitch.tv/kylatilley

It took some time but we did it! Boss defeated! This game is hard for me to play for long periods because it makes me reeally dizzy, but I'm 100% emotionally invested so we might add a gaming hour to each regular stream. We'll see.

Dawson Mercer (our local boy in the NHL) heading to Winnipeg in the Hellebyuk trade. Guess the grocery store will be taking down the Devils logo and putting up a Jets one. I tend to root for the Jets (when they aren't playing the Habs) and will do with more gusto this year.

My gosh did I ever make the right call. Woke up this morning to howling winds, and its currently hailing. Now would be about the time I'd have been heading home if I'd stayed in town.

Kyla Tilley 🎶 🎸 🎤 👠 🫐@kylatilley.com

Drove home tonight instead of staying in town at my mom's because it isn't windy right now and they're calling for strong wind and rain tomorrow, but sheesh. Rain and fog made for some not awesome stretches on the highway. I think any other gigs I have between now and April I'll stay in town.

But I'm still happier with dark, rain, fog, and moose potential than bright, rain, fog, and high winds. That little car does not fare so well in the wind.

And when it's foggy (and yes, we do get so much fog that high winds and fog can co-exist) you can't see much better in the daytime than you can at night.

When I do my TikTok streams I get a lot of requests for songs I don't know. (Often very big pop songs, songs new and old.) I put them on a playlist to check them out, and I'm constantly amazed by how often I just can't hear a melody, or there is a melody, but it doesn't go anywhere.

Sometimes there is so much autotune on the vocals, or it's so deeply indie folk, that I have a visceral reaction and can't even listen to a full bar of the song.

And then sometimes they are great songs, but I just don't want to cover them. But sometimes! They are fantastic songs and they become part of my repertoire.

Other times there's a great melody, but the lyrics are either filled with terrible rhymes, or are simply not words I'm comfortable singing.

What was Elijah Wood famous for before the Lord of the Rings movies? I thought he was big for something, and I remember liking him as an actor before the lotr stuff, but looking at his IMDb page the only film I think I saw was The Faculty. (Which is great, so maybe that's it.)

I enjoy looking at the marine traffic website, and today this website which shows the marine traffic below water came to my attention. The fish profile pics are delightful. Bella looks like she's up for anything. ocearch.org/tracker/deta...

Discussing how my phone's voice note app might make things easier for me when I have ideas on the go and a transcription would make me actually review them, but then we're telling google all my ideas. So I've decided to end all notes with 'The solution is to tax billionaires.'

Either google will stop feeding my voice notes into their machines, or eventually it will fix everything.

Mostly normal schedule this week, but I'm starting the gaming stream an hour early. The whole stream may be one boss fight, but oh my gosh am I enjoying Ultimate Drummer! Anyway, see you at the Monday Morning Sing Song! #music

Signal Hill at the end was brutal, but Cape to Cabot was awesome. I'll definitely be signing up to do it again next year.

I am going to play a couple hours of Ultimate Drummer on twitch tonight. I do not yet know if my game was saved. It may be that I'm going to have to desperately spend the time trying to get to a save point. twitch.tv/kylatilley

I have been know to enjoy a beautiful melody telling me terrible things on more than one occasion.

This post is unavailable.

I had an appointment today to get my winter tires put on. Which is good. Because it snowed last night.

Finally got around to watching Midsommar. I thought it was really well done. I'd avoided it because of it's length. If I'd realized it was the same dude who did Hereditary I might have avoided it completely, so I'm glad I went in unaware.

Judging by my review for Hereditary, it seems like dude took all the aspects I didn't like, and did them again but executed much better. I also enjoy the horror assertion that you should stay away from hippy communes. Stay away from hippy communes. No good can come of them.

Today's moderate misadventure involved hunkering down in a rocky outcropping on the trail to wait out a hunter. When we finally made contact turns out he wasn't shooting at anything, he was just letting the beagle get some exercise. (We heard shots, but maybe it was someone further afield.)

We heard the dog as we were walking down the trail so I was yelling 'People on the trail' at the top of my lungs. No one responded, but then we saw the rabbit being chased by the dog and we thought, either the hunter is far, or they've got hearing protection on. We'd best wait it out.

Anyway, Sammy is a very good boy, but at 10 years of age, he is no where near fast enough to keep up with our local rabbits.

Monday is Thanksgiving in Canada so I'm going to take this Monday off. Thursday and Friday TikToks starting really early. Songs with titles that are something and something on the Warble, and we'll continue playing Ultimate Drummer when we game on Friday. #music

This show was kind of magical. That pub is really nice, two old friends that I haven't seen in years and years were there, and the organizers gave me flowers! And so much more. I'm going to have to write about it in my blog.

I keep trying to tell people about this great Vampire movie but I can never remember the name. I finally remembered to ask the husband. Me: We watched it together a few years ago. It's a movie you liked from before. It's about vampires having fun. He: Are you talking about Modern Vampires?

He said it's not exactly about Vampires having fun, but we just watched the trailer and I think that's what it's about. Anyway, it was great, and you should watch it, and if I tried to tell you about a great vampire movie, that was it. Modern Vampires.

It is so weird to see Chris Kreider in a Habs jersey. I'm also shocked to see that it's been 12 years since the incident. Anyway, #goHabsGo

Two things that I love about humanity are that no matter the time or place, we seem to love a large vegetable, and we seem to love a silly hat.
