The sad things about a political party blaming their 20-yr slide into irrelevance on one local journalist are: 1) it's silly 2) it tells their voters they can't make change through good candidates/ideas 3) if that journalist is fired and their fortunes don't improve, the lie is revealed

Denver7 just dropped an exclusive interview with GOP Gov nominee Victor Marx. Marx says the allegations against him are “propaganda” and have been proven false. If Denver7 pushed back or questioned that, it wasn’t aired in the segment.

This means Not Shook, LLC has now given the Marx campaign $11k (and made who knows how much off selling merch and meetings with Marx). If the LLC isn't Marx himself (a candidate can self-fund with no limit), it must declare EIGHT owners to stay under legal contribution limits.

But the latest campaign finance filings from the Marx campaign just ignore the requirement to disclose the LLC's owner/s. The campaign also ignored our questions about this. It's possible this prompts yet another campaign finance violation complaint and state investigation.

The Marx campaign has to disclose the LLC's owner because it paid the campaign a $5k licensing fee. Contributions above the $1450 limit can only come from the candidate himself. So the LLC must disclose its owner is Marx, or several other people. The new filing does neither.

Marx, his family, and his campaign directed donors to a site selling merchandise and meetings with Marx for up to $1300. Marx won't say where the money is going. When his campaign filed a campaign finance disclosure listing Marx as the LLC's owner, he called it a "silly mistake."
