The lessons I keep learning from @iwriteok.bsky.social and @jasonkpargin.bsky.social are to know everything about what's happening online, never use the internet, make friends with my neighbors, and know how to use a gun. The latter two are done; not sure how to reconcile the first two.

@startthemachine.bsky.social @moviehooligan.bsky.social am I right that The Watchers also had a weird superficial metaphor about AI? The prof said that “at first… it made my eyes too big, miscounted my fingers…” It seemed very obvious and possibly dumb, so I was surprised y’all didn’t mention it

@ohheygreat.bsky.social I hit the exact right age back in the day that you were an influential voice for me; I think I turned out more or less okay (at least not super toxic). I believe your columns were part of that— they were meaningful and important. Thank you for what you did. Happy Hanukkah.
