Words to live by. "Know when enough is enough" There are very few people in this world in leadership positions who know contentment.

Yup. Atproto is not decentralized, I only recently learned about the way Bluesky posts are aggregated from the different PDSs into a single Relay controlled by Bluesky. Bluesky,PBC the company owns that and is run by them. There is no way currently to host your own relay and peer... pluralistic.net

...that they chose this architecture bcs running search, algorithms etc is very difficult on distributed systems and yes, he is right. But it is disingenuous to call ATproto decentralised when it is not. If Bluesky relay goes down, so do all different appViews. I don't know if it is a priority to...

...make Relay truly distributed. I want this platform to truly succeed. I am loving it, the dev community is actively building on top of it. But, this same thing happened with Twitter in its early days. I don't want to rely on the benevolence of Bluesky corp, companies' priorities change, people...

...your relay with bluesky's. If Bluesky is to ACTUALLY become decentralised, they must prioritise this. I know the end user don't care but it's a lie to say that we can just take our data and run with it to other appView. How? I know distributed systems are hard. @pfrazee.com said on hackernews...

It is seriously disheartening to see people complaining about my "rights" for posting on an open platform. You gave away all your rights the moment you posted on an platform. Do you want researchers do this on the hush hush? Your data is publicly accessible and so is mine, you can consume the...

...firehose and get yourself all the posts posted on this platform. Come on. Number rule of the internet, if it is on the internet, it can be scraped and that applies for protected sites but here we have an openly accessible site and it's data. Come on.

Is anybody working on integrating bluesky with blogs? Wouldn't it be cool to have a comment system on blogs or articles where you can take advantage of this burgeoning ecosystem of apps? This way I am guessing it would help the blog with SEO as well. #atproto #developers

I read an overview of what AT proto is and I am confused about how is this any better when it comes to protecting art copyright? Like since everything is open, you can just oink people's art like they already do on other platforms, why is this platform popular with artists? Can anybody explain?

Ok this is my first "skeet" as they call it on this platform. Nice.

Thanks for this. Opened this app after a long while as it was basically dead last year when I signed up. Seems like the tech feed is interesting now. This was suggested to me. This is cool. Gives me the old twitter vibes.

You are up to date.
