Lara Newsom or Nerdsom or whatever

Cloudy with a chance of AI? ☁️ @laranewsom.com and I had an unfiltered conversation on AI code reviews and the future of Angular during #GoogleCloudNext. 📺 Watch here: youtu.be/ce2dPtCc4ug?... #Angular #WebDev

This is Cookie. She’s very good at being cute but she’s bad at puzzles and totally doesn’t get sarcasm.

I realized today that for the first time in my career, my team (8 engineers) is 50% women 💃🏻 AND 50% of our senior devs are women.

@laranewsom.com #ngconf2025 talk is now on YouTube! #AI can help teams ship code faster—but how do you ensure it follows #Angular best practices? Learn how to set up AI guardrails in your repo so your tools generate quality code from the start. Watch now👇 youtu.be/eKtVjxfkva0

I’m recording audio for a new Pluralsight course, and I am sorry. I simply cannot pronounce “contextual descriptors” without tripping over my own tongue. 🫠

In case anyone is wondering about the crowd size of Trump’s Iowa campaign rally, just know that more people attend a suburban middle school band concert on a Tuesday night than were at that rally. 😂

Remember when Kristi Noem signed a law in South Dakota to allow permit-less open carry so that South Dakotans could open carry their loaded AR-15s at Walmart and how she had the audacity this weekend to say “why would anyone bring a loaded weapon to a peaceful protest?”

It would be time for the holidays without my family making a truly ridiculous Christmas card.

Election Day in my precinct wasn’t all that exciting, all the candidates I liked were running unopposed, but what did make it exciting is that my youngest cast their first vote in an actual election 🥹 I can’t wait to vote with both of my kids in the midterms next year.

Once again it was so great to see my #angular family at Ng-conf! It was had a great time seeing everyone who could make it, and miss everyone who could not!

If you're a writer/other creator in the United States, consider creating an LLC for your business and then signing up for a local area Chamber of Commerce. Many of them have health insurance plans that pool their members and members of other CoCs to create insurance efficiencies relative to ACA.

Using AI to generate code is cool, but how about using it to DELETE CODE?! Our iOS team is using goose to remove hundreds of thousands of lines of dead code from their monorepo 🤯 block.github.io/goose/blog/2...

I’m pretty sure my hell would include having to record audio where I say the words “asterisk” and “ampersand” over and over again

I put on my new phone screen protector and it sort of went like this: Reads “peel this first to avoid touching the adhesive” Immediately touches the adhesive 🫠

One of the little things that bring me joy is that every morning, I crack my office door so my cat can go outside and enjoy the garden. It’s hot so I close my inner door to just a crack to keep the heat out. When he is done, he koolaid mans his way through the cracked door and it is delightful

A mini reunion of @angular.dev GDEs at #KCDC2025. @kcdc.bsky.social @jenniferwadella.com @laranewsom.com @wordman.dev @mhartington.io @alyssanicoll.bsky.social

I’m so glad to be a developer sitting on a plane trying to go to a conference instead of the developers who work at @unitedairline.bsky.social right now! May your fingers be nimble and get us on our way soon!!

Publicly admitting you know a bill is terrible and still voting for it just says you’re a spineless turd who doesn’t deserve that job even if you got some sweet signed merch out of the deal.

Protecting his stock portfolio while ripping away health care from 17 million Americans. This is Washington at its worst. We need to ban Congressional stock trading.

And this is why I just donated to your campaign.

It’s official– I’m running for US Congress in #IA-03! This district is my home. I’m running for Congress because Iowans need a fighter for them in Washington and Zach Nunn isn’t up to the job. Join our campaign and help us win: secure.actblue.com/donate/jk-bs...

Wondering why the `bindings` option in #Angular is an array instead of an object literal? One reason is that some minifiers (Google's Closure, I guess) mangle property names. The number of things the Angular team has to think of is fascinating 🤯 Thx @crisbeto.bsky.social & @thepunderwoman.com

This is so exciting!!

The most bad ass piece of sports equipment is the softball bat pack.

My outdoor pride flags need replaced and I want to buy from a business that is LGBTQIA+ owned instead of dumping money into Amazon. Does anyone have a recommendation?

I love the "Angular Can I Use" web app by @gerome.dev! It's a fantastic way to quickly check the status (experimental, developer preview, or stable) for a comprehensive list of Angular features. www.angular.courses/caniuse

I just got an email from my kid’s school district telling parents they need to tell their kids not to stick metal objects in electrical outlets and this is how I know Idiocracy was actually a documentary.

In less than a month, I never have to log into PowerSchool ever again. 👩‍🎓

I grossly underestimated how distracting my new yard would be on a 60F/15.5C degree day. It’s freaking magical out there

After the State of JS, CSS, AI… here comes the State of Devs: a survey for everything that's *not* code: career, workplace, health, hobbies, and more! survey.devographics.com/survey/state...

You are valuable because you are. Even if you are nonverbal. Even if you have physical disabilities that prevent you from working. Even if you have cognitive disabilities that prevent you from work. Or as Moana says, This does not define you This is not who you are You know who you are.
