Maybe, many have never been critical thinkers, & have always been followers. Many of Trump’s supporters are entertained by him…laughing at his vile, outrageous comments & mindlessly applauding him. They’re very comfortable with his abusive words & actions. I wonder what % were abused in childhood.

Sure feels that way. Most of my clients are MAGA. Each has been bamboozled by widespread repeated propaganda. Fox or NewsMax or Instagram or X or DailyWire or … They’re fundamentally good but they seem to crave boogeyman nonsense. Existential fear drains their brains of critical thinking.
