My MAGA focus group felt betrayed by tariffs, high gas prices, and inflation. I asked if there was any way Republicans could win back their support, and they replied only if they could prove that the pain had fallen harder on Black people.

Murphy's 170th Anniversary Whiskey Cask Stout at Bishopstown Bar, Cork. Went to a dentist appointment and found myself a few minutes walk from one of the 9 pubs serving this beer. Would have been rude not to stop in and have one (well two).

Mindful that I would soon find the 25th anniversary bearing down on me, I thought maybe writing this could make it easier for young journalists and others to talk more with their friends and colleagues, with the people they love, or maybe even with a therapist about their experiences and responses.

#MedievalMonday The Pele Tower in Corbridge Northumberland was built c. 1300 - troubled times in borderlands. Much of masonry is reused sandstone from nearby #Roman town. Tower was a defensive home for vicar of adjacent St Andrew's church until 17th C. It's now a micro bar. Of course it is.
