Now online: The #openaccess #ZoologicaScripta paper by Lamb et al 'The Paralicella Paradox: Broadly Distributed Lineages Without Clear Geographic Partitioning in Paralicella tenuipes and the Paralicella caperesca Species Complex'. doi.org/10.1111/zsc.... #marinebiology #deepsea #Amphipoda

Lovely sunshine and excellent running condition when celebrating the 200th edition of #Ekebergslettaparkrun yesterday morning. Congrats to all participants and volunteers. #parkrun

Marianne Nilsen Haugen of the CEG group at NHM Oslo will defend her PhD thesis 'Species diversity, geographic ranges and genetic connectivity in organisms with limited dispersal capacity. A case study of the flightless intertidal beetle genus Aegialites Mannerheim, 1853' today. Lykke til Marianne!!!

Volunteering for parkrun is fun 😀 Planning the 200th Ekebergsletta parkrun (Oslo, Norway) upcoming Saturday 17. October 2026 at 9:30 a.m. Looking forward to meeting you there. #parkrun #ekebergslettaparkrun

#buchempfehlung

Unbelievable! Upcoming Saturday 17. October we will have already the 200th edition of #Ekebergslettaparkrun (Oslo, Norway). Just happy to see how the event developed over the years. Find further information at: www.parkrun.no/ekebergsletta/ See you upcoming Saturday. #parkrun

For the 55_6 issue of the Zoologica Scripta the paper by Chesters et al. entitled 'A Lepidoptera Synthesis Phylogeny of 11,001 Species and Its Application in Phylogenetic Profiling of Herbivore DNA Barcodes: Towards an Integrative Phylogenetic Framework for Insects' was selected as featured article.

Ekebergsletta parkrun #197 - a great way to start the weekend. Today, we could welcome 84 parkrunners and eight volunteers. #parkrun #ekebergslettaparkrun

Eventually managed to read 'The Buddenbrooks' by Thomas Mann, the major reason that Mann won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1929. Yes, quite lengthy but still worth reading. A glimpse into a different time. #bookrecommendation

Last Friday, 21. August, the seminar 'Parasitology in Modern Times' was held at the Natural History Museum, University of Oslo, on the occasion of my retirement. I am particularly grateful to Torsten Struck for organising the seminar and to all speakers and participants. #parasitology

After the lunch break, Torsten Struck presented a contribution by Tor A. Bakke, emeritus at NHM Oslo, 'Helminthological research at the Zoological Museum and the Natural History Museum since 1914.' Tor, unfortunately, could not participate and present himself due to health issues.

**1/7** 🔥 New paper out in Evolution! How predictable is genome evolution? Over the past decade, my work has explored both directions of evolution: the rise of biological complexity and the genomic simplification that accompanies parasitism. lnkd.in/dRnuX-we 🧵👇

The featured paper of the September issue of the Zoologica Scripta by Feng et al. entitled 'Chromosome-Level Genome Assembly of Otocolobus manul Provides Insights Into High-Altitude Adaptation and Evolutionary Traits' targets Palla’s cat. Enjoy the reading !!! #zoologicascripta

Very nice!! The paper 'Reconstructing mitochondrial genomes directly from genomic next-generation sequencing reads—a baiting and iterative mapping approach' by Hahn et al. has now been cited more than 2000 times according to google scholar. doi.org/10.1093/nar/...
