Julie Beistline is a sought-after violinist, educator, and top-call studio musician based in Salt Lake City.

Her career spans classical, cinematic, and contemporary music, with performances at Carnegie Hall and Red Rocks, concertmaster roles for major live concert tours, and collaborations with artists including Steven Tyler, Andrea Bocelli, Elle King, and Laufey.

Steve Keen is an accomplished jazz pianist, accordionist, bassist, guitarist, arranger, and educator with deep roots in Salt Lake City’s music scene.

Originally from Baltimore, he studied at Georgia Tech, earned degrees in Music Performance and Psychology from Westminster College and the University of Utah, and later served as a jazz piano associate professor.

Megan Joy Allman is a singer, songwriter, recording artist, and performer who first captured national attention as a finalist on @americanidol.bsky.social .

Aaron Ashton is a violinist whose work can be heard across film, television, and major recording projects, with credits including ESPN, CNBC, CNN, Pixar, The Killers, @kaskademusic.com , Late Night Alumni, Shakira , and more.

The UMO rehearses weekly and performs two public concerts per year. The UMO regularly partners with Music in Medicine, a medical student-led initiative at @utah.edu that explores the connection between music and healing.

Through this partnership, members have opportunities to volunteer at Primary Children's Hospital, sharing music with patients and their families.

The Utah Medical Orchestra (UMO) is a community ensemble of 100+ members dedicated to the medical community in the SLC area. Our orchestra is composed of healthcare providers, staff, researchers, & students from @uofuhealth.bsky.social, Intermountain Healthcare, and other local clinics & hospitals.

Janet Lindsley is a Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Utah, who started her career leading a research lab that studied enzyme mechanisms, and pivoted to medical and science education.

She served for 15 years as assistant dean of curriculum (until July 2025) at the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine. Her recent scholarship has focused on how basic science education impacts the professional identity development of medical learners.
