#SLP #HigherEd instructors- Please see this #qualitative study on short-term study abroad. Always thrilled to work alongside @kwsaar.bsky.social

A nice Valentine's Day read for #SLP and #SLT with interests in #stuttering.

Happy Valentine’s Day #BSKYSpeechies! 💌 Check out this recent viewpoint that guides #SLPeeps in improving the social communicative lives of people who stutter to include navigating the #dating scene. 💝 Great article, Drs. Johnson & Medina! doi.org/10.1044/2024...

Posting this call for help in managing useless but harmful reviews of #qualitative #research.

Jamie Azios@jamieazios.bsky.social

Our qualitative study got desk reject for “sample size” & “validity”. Appealed & reply said we should add 1)coder reliability & 2)numerical data in a table to justify “theme saturation” for paper to go to review. I’ve published qual work for 9 years & don’t know how to deal w/ this quant bias. Help!

Rooting for the #Eagles and also somehow for #TaylorSwift. But honestly, I'm mostly here for the #SuperbOwl posts.

c0nc0rdance@c0nc0rdance.bsky.social

Like many animals that can fly, the #SuperbOwl has gyro-stabilized neck movements to allow it to maintain focus on prey in flight. They're not unique in this, but they are superb! This little guy is in a rescue for head trauma from a car strike. You can see the pupils don't match (anisocoria).

Oh, what a read! #Qualitative researchers and reviewers, this one is for you.

Wow. This is helpful! #qualitative researchers’ experiences of methodologically incongruent peer review feedback doi.org/10.1037/qup0... ➕ Table 1 here: supp.apa.org/psycarticles... EXPLAINS WHY NOT to comply with reviewer requests that are incompatible with qualitative research #academicsky

Sharing this for others going through the #tenure process. I submit for tenure and #promotion this fall and am happily accepting tips from those on and farther along the same journey.

Tenure review is hard to wrap your mind around until you're going through it. Here are some concrete tips for preparing your tenure review file, tracking successes, preparing your CV, organizing materials, and presenting metrics. https://buff.ly/3LNdUmu #Tenure

Hi readers- Trying this again just in case there are any specific tips/ recommendations. Are there better book tracking sites readers like better than Goodreads? Or should I stick with that one? #reading #books #bookrecommendations #bibliophile

I'm interested to learn about different apps/websites readers use to keep track of books. I used Goodreads for the first time this year but was curious about what else is out there. Any tips? #booksky

Wildly following every #SLP I can find. My clinical area is mild #TBI; however, I’m interested in all things #cognitive. I’m a #qualitative researcher studying clinical perspectives with a special focus on strength-based perspective #strengths. Would love to build a positive community of SLPs!

Happy to see Merriam-Webster here. Every day.

Merriam-Webster@merriam-webster.com

everyday = used or seen daily (ordinary) "The emails were an everyday occurrence." every day = daily or every weekday "They go to the coffee shop every day." If you can put another word between ‘every’ and ‘day,’ as in ‘every single day, ’ then you want the two-word version.

You are up to date.
