it's interesting how people would care so much more about LLMs being theoretically conscious and capable of suffering (on both side, for and against "AI welfare") instead of caring about all the much more scientifically "self-aware" or whatever other buzzword beings that we are directly harming.

you know what would be fun? not eye cameras. if I have an eye screen it doesn't make sense to see out of that non-hole anyway. how bout like, oh idk nose hole cameras. weird IR or whatever lidar things in the holes below the eyes. whatever emitter and reciever between the eyes.

thoughts? i feel like in most stories that i've come across it's always about an evil misaligned AI and it's never about the people using the AI? that the AI is different from us and that is why we should be worried but never about how we are using AI? i feel like that's worth talking about
