the way woke is back

RESULT: The right took over the Francis Howell school board, a large MO district in the St. Louis suburbs, earlier this decade; followed book bans & restrictive policies on LGBTQ students. Tonight, the slate endorsed by the teacher's slate swept, and the last remaining conservative was ousted.

I hope Democrats who enabled the US government's continued fealty to the Israeli government over the past 3 years (let alone decades) understand that they're also responsible for the complete shitstorm that is happening right now

This is the second time in under a week that I’ve seen a reporter ask Trump tough questions for like…the first time ever in his second term. Did something happen?

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

LANDERS: Why did the FBI seize election records in AZ? TRUMP: They probably thought the election was rigged LANDERS: It wasn't though TRUMP: Oh really? How do you know? LANDERS: Your own AG said it TRUMP: If you say it wasn't rigged, you're a rotten reporter LANDERS: Where's the evidence?

Not gonna lie it would be fucking insane if Kat pulled this off. Really hope they’re underpolling unlikely votes who’ll swing it for her.

Alex Harrison@alexhairysun.bsky.social

IL-09 POLL: In the 2nd @evanstonroundtable.bsky.social/PPP primary poll, Daniel Biss is unmoved at 24% and Kat Abughazaleh has jumped to 20%, narrowing the gap to 4%. Laura Fine falls to 14%, Mike Simmons up to 10%. Undecideds still sizable at 17%. Polled March 9-10, MOE 3.6%. See below for more!

With a race this close, you gotta ask why @aoc.bsky.social didn't endorse Nida Allam and help her fill the (tiny) gap. She endorsed her last time as well as @analiliafornj.bsky.social in an OPEN primary, so only reason I can think of is she didn't want to endorse against an incumbent, which is...bad

Christine Zhu@christinezhu.bsky.social

NEW: All precincts reported for NC-04's Democratic primary Unofficial results show Valerie Foushee ahead of Nida Allam by 1,202 votes, or 1% It's within the 1% margin for Allam to request a mandatory recount Some votes, like absentee and provisional ballots, yet to be counted

Political events in the UK are a reliable predictor of how things will go in the US. 2016: Brexit --> Trump 1.0 2019: Corby loses --> Bernie loses in 2020 2026: Insurgent leftist candidates start defeating the centrist liberal party --> ?

"Democratic leadership needs to go. Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, they need to go" - said and cheered on by this crowd of radical far-left - uh...elderly, white, average Democratic voters in Maine... (Graham Platner town hall in Caribou from December)

Gonna do a little study and see how many Democrats who advertise to me unprompted on Instagram end up winning their Senate primaries. So far I've gotten Talarico in Texas, McMorrow in Michigan, and Platner in Maine.

I need to point out that over 110 THOUSAND Floridians voted for Fine in 2025. He won by 15% points. We can't excuse voters from responsibility any more. Any person who votes for him again this year is an unrepentant racist piece of shit.

Acyn@acyn.bsky.social

Wow…. Jennifer Jenkins doesn’t hold back when asked about Randy Fine.

Brought to you by the “millennials can’t afford a home because of avocado toast” think tank.

renethebae.bsky.social@renethebae.bsky.social

Economic mismanagement of their own affairs. People get raises and bonuses, only to spend them on upgrades or trying to "live like the Joneses", which causes more strain on their finances. Remember that anecdotal stories are viewed skeptically by the courts for a reason.

I mean, in Maine, he is the only anti-establishment candidate and probably the only candidate who can defeat Collins, so this is kind of silly.

Greg Pak@gregpak.net

Just gonna say there are plenty of insurgent, anti-establishment candidates WITHOUT Nazi tattoos that the New Republic could have featured instead of Platner. You could ABSOLUTELY make the point that Ds are mad at the centrist leaders of the party WITHOUT helping rehabilitate this particular guy.

Not worried about Ossof holding the Georgia Senate seat.

Carl Quintanilla@carlquintanilla.bsky.social

SEN. OSSOFF: “.. why are roving gangs of masked men — who look like they couldn’t pass the Army physical exam — dressed up like pretend Delta Force operators, on our streets, demanding papers, dragging people from their cars, and shooting people to death?” @acyn.bsky.social

This is the kind of mindset and rhetoric the next Dem POTUS needs to have.

Acyn@acyn.bsky.social

AOC on the Kennedy Center: The renaming is completely illegitimate. All they did was screw some nameplates onto the building. That’s coming right off. Enjoy your name on there for a year or two, but that’s getting ripped right out.

Eliminating ICE is the modern equivalent of opposing the Iraq War, and right now there are two types of Democrats: those who can see where the ball is moving and go to it, and those who will be swept away because they refused to do so.

Chris Polansky@chrispolansky.bsky.social

“I would rather you vote for what is morally correct,” Davidson said. “Don’t talk to me about my own morality,” DeLauro shot back. “Don’t tell your constituents what they can and can’t talk to you about,” replied Rev. Nathan Empsall. “What you are voting for is not moral.”

What is this now, 30 Republicans retiring from Congress (because they know MAGA is a sinking ship and are cowards)?

$20/hour is "really high" according to HuffPost. That's an annual PRE-TAX income of $41,600 working full-time. That's barely enough to nowhere near enough to survive depending on where you live. I don't think people in the politico/media sphere have any clue how regular people live.

Lmfao. Yes Trump is despised from every policy angle and his approval has plummeted 45 points, but the vapid nepomentary about his vapid trophy wife will win the country back

Mauro on Melania movie: What they are worried about is if this is indicia for the midterms…this is the indication that that silent majority is still out there.

The ICE agent who murdered Renee Good was part of Trump’s ICE, Biden’s ICE, and Obama’s ICE.

The opposite of a leader.

David Dayen@ddayen.bsky.social

NEWS: While Hakeem Jeffries has announced he's opposing the DHS/ICE funding bill tomorrow, his team is not whipping the vote. Several frontliners are expected to vote yes. There's a difference in leadership between personal vote decisions & unifying the caucus. From me: prospect.org/2026/01/21/j...

“Polarization”, “divisiveness”, etc are the words of cop-outs and cowardice, refusing to actually name the problem and coating everything as a “both-sides” problem.

JD Vance out here saying that Renee Good was part of coordinated left wing attacks on law enforcement and that we should be sensitive to the ICE agent who murdered her cause he's been injured in the past...are we gonna tolerate this level of gaslighting?

Yeah let's not examine why we fucked up last time this is a surefire recipe for success in the future

The Democratic National Committee will not publicly release its autopsy of the 2024 presidential campaign, party officials said, a reversal intended to avoid a contentious reckoning over the party’s failure.

Trump on past Democratic presidents: "A CORRUPT and dangerous man who DESTROYED the economy and HATED our country" Newsom: "We should all be more like Ronald Reagan" 🤡

Governor Newsom Press Office@govpressoffice.gov.ca.gov

The presidency once served as a reminder of our common humanity. Ronald Reagan described its purpose as building "a nation composed of good and decent people."

Democrats allowing Trump to be the one to do this was a massive political blunder

🍃 SCOOP 🍃 President Trump is preparing to order his administration to dramatically loosen restrictions on MARIJUANA. The order would reclassify cannabis from Schedule I — the same level as heroin — to Schedule III — the same level as Tylenol and codeine and some steroids.

Universal healthcare isn't too much. Premiums are too much - that's exactly why we need Medicare for All.

I love it when some low level Republican is like…”uh crap, we ran on lowering costs, we should maybe, Uhh, do that?” - like bro, your party will spontaneously combust before it does anything to help working people.

Gov. @gavinnewsom says he disagrees with Mayor @zohrankmamdani about the need for a wealth tax on billionaires, which he is “adamantly against” - says Dems are a “big tent party” with both views. More on the CA proposal: www.sacbee.com/news/politic...

Was actually thinking this. Yeah after 2-4 years of clownish fascism voters will put Dems back in power, but if it’s just the usual do-nothing corporatists leading the party, we’ll just get Trump 2.0 one or two election cycles later.

Joshua Holland@joshuaholland.bsky.social

I'm not an 'there won't be elections' doomer. I'm a long-term doomer. I think the pendulum will swing back and Dems will regain power and then face an even more hostile press than before and won't have the votes to restructure the courts and we'll be in this awful cycle for the rest of my life.
