Most of the #NC5 is getting beneficial tropical rains. We just don’t want too much of a good thing. As the core of what’s left of #Isaias moves through the area, the wind gusts will pick up. The chance for a quick spin up tornado close to the track is low but not zero.

You can see the latest forecast track in red. The best threat for severe weather is south of us The picture is from Lynchburg where The 37th annual Jack Daniels World Invitational BBQ Championship is still being held. Events were moved up an hour. . #NC5 #tnwx #kywx

I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of Dolly Parton. Heather Mathis and I were honored to interview her in November 2023 for the opening of her new resort at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge. Rest in Peace Dolly. Thank-you for all you have done for Tennessee!

Gusty winds and localized flash flooding are the main threats but an isolated tornado and large hail can’t be ruled out, especially for areas highlighted in yellow under a level 2 risk. Please make sure you have ways to receive warnings overnight.

An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for most of the midstate until Sunday evening. It will feel up to 112 degrees at times. Please stay heat safe! Please stay hydrated! #NC5 #tnwx #kywx #heatwave

Great shot from #Sky5! It's a refreshing start to the morning for most of us. It's still humid in our southern/southeastern counties where there are still some showers this morning. #NC5 #tnwx #sunrise
