Okay, hot take: you know how in the Mewtwo movie we saw Donphan early? (And I guess Ho-oh in episode 1, and Togepi before Gen 2) I tjink there should be 1 or 2 trainers in each gen that have a PokƩmon from the NEXT gen that we can't actually get until it drops.

Like imagine Gen 1 Lance had a Kingdra, but we never got a Dragon Scale. What kind of playground rumors would that have sparked? Complete the Kanto dex, and Oak says "what? You saw one that's not here? The world of PokƩmon is more vast that I imagined. I wonder where they come from?"

And for gen 1 Kindra you could even let it be transferred backwards with time capsule after the fact. That would have been neat, imo. WE GET BOSS FIGHTS NOW THAT WE NEVER GET TO CATCH ANYWAY, DON'T COME AT ME WITH COMPLAINTS ABOUT NOT CATCHING LITERALLY EVERY OPTION šŸ˜¤

No, for real, I think having someone/something external like that to keep track of the executive planning and decisions would do fuckin' wonders for when my brain is being soupy. Following instructions is much easier than making decisions & following through, even if its still my call, just delayed
