So little Don Q has moved from swinging at windmills to going after solar panels. As if he really cares about the animals. 😆

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump on solar panels: "They kill all the animals. The animals jump on them and they fry."

This hits close to home for me. I was raised around faith healing believers, so now as I care for a disabled person, the last thing I want to hear is how “Jesus already healed them, just believe!”

ProPublica@propublica.org

Between 2015 and 2025, at least 15 children in an Idaho faith-healing sect died of treatable conditions. State law allows that to happen: Parents who say their faith prohibits giving their children lifesaving medical care can’t be prosecuted.

Abject bigotry and ignorance on full display. It defies understanding how this person is even allowed to be in public leadership.

Omar Yaghi's 2025 win of the Nobel Prize even generated controversy in some corners because he previously won (and accepted) the Wolf Prize, which is awarded by a foundation in Israel.

Why wouldn’t he admit it? The Supreme Court immunized this kind of stuff. It’s why Jack Smith had to take the Jeffrey Clark/DOJ/Trump conspiracy out of his Jan 6 indictment.

There shouldn’t be any billionaires, much less a character like Musk who fu€k$ with people’s lives and security. Musk’s on/off $1+ trillion fortune is larger than the annual nominal GDP of countries like Taiwan, Sweden, Egypt, et al. His wealth is > double South Africa's entire annual GDP. #WTF

Oh how I wish I could convince people I know to stop using WhatsApp. 😣 The more the world stops using Meta services, the better.

Robert Reich@rbreich.bsky.social

Meta gave $1M to Trump's inauguration fund — and Mark Zuckerberg himsef has helped bankroll Trump's ballroom. Now Trump's DOJ has halted a years-long criminal investigation into allegedly enabling and profiting from illegal drug sales on its platforms. Funny how that works, huh?

#FactChecked Trump is a six-time bankrupt, 34-count felon, and adjudicated sexual abuser who falsified records to hide hush-money payments. Putin is an ICC-indicted war crimes suspect wanted for deporting Ukrainian children to Russia (to say nothing about his other crimes against fellow Russians).

If you’re unclear Amanpour’s exit from CNN after 43 years has to do with the Ellison takeover and her coverage of Israel/Gaza you’re not paying attention. Fascism is taking hold in 🇺🇸, as the Trump-friendly pro-Israel oligarchs buy up the outlets.

Curious about the roots of Christian nationalism in American politics? Here's a starting map of key figures and organizations feeding into American Christian Nationalism spanning decades. After enough division, all that was missing in 2016 was a fraud willing to light the match and take power. 🧵1/14

2023: House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), who worked for Alliance Defending Freedom in the early 2000s, is reported to fly an Appeal to Heaven flag, tied to NAR circles, outside his office. 🧵13/14

I tried to make this brief but easy enough scroll & bookmark or save, or just reply to. There are a lot of things that can fit in between, but this is just the surface. By no stretch of any imagination does this cover everything, but there is a deep-dive and wiki party waiting for each. 🧵14/14

2022: Stephen Wolfe's "The Case for Christian Nationalism" embraces the label and argues for it. In the Reformed Calvinist stream (think Calvinist branch of Protestantism from the 16th-century Reformation), Doug Wilson (Moscow, Idaho; CREC) is openly sympathetic to the idea. 🧵11/14

2020: Sean Feucht, long tied to Bethel Church in Redding, CA and deeply entrenched in the NAR, loses his House (congress) bid, then leads pandemic-era "Let Us Worship" rallies to protest state government restrictions on public gathering. 🧵10/14

David Barton (WallBuilders[dot]com) promotes "Christian founding" history claims in what he calls "reclamation" and what we call "historical revisionism". In 2004, the RNC hired him to rally evangelical pastors in battleground states. Note his later affiliation with the Tea Party. 🧵5/14

2006: Focus on the Family's "The Truth Project," a DVD series led by Del Tackett, teaches a "biblical worldview" on politics, family, and science. Reportedly seen by 20M+ people worldwide, used as curricula in churches and Christian homeschooling. 🧵6/14

Poland’s Foreign Minister Sikorski: basically calling Trump a liar. “The US no longer finances this war since January of last year. In other words, for more than a year and a half. The US has not contributed a single cent to the defense of Ukraine. We are doing it. Europe.”

I’m prepping a thread 🧵 on Christian nationalism in America. As a former believer, I saw firsthand Christian reactions to Bill Clinton. Make no mistake, churches ignore their 501(c)(3) non-profit rule barring them from endorsing or opposing political candidates, especially now under Trump’s IRS.

Step by step, day by day, Americans experience the big platforms becoming Orwellian political censors. The US needs a federal government that will tax them and break them up; the democratic world needs to learn the lesson and protect itself.

For anyone curious about the roots of Christian nationalism in modern American politics, I'd suggest starting with David Barton and the evangelical mobilization around George W. Bush's 2000 campaign, then following the thread forward to figures like Sean Feucht today.

SCOOP: 'Tommy' from the now-viral exchange with Abdul El-Sayed is Thomas Teepell, a former staffer for Republican Senator Josh Hawley with close ties to Christian Nationalist Sean Feucht. He's the son of a former Bobby Jindal staffer whose consultant work was instrumental in getting Hawley elected.
