I ain’t never lied to ya bro💯I know my shit. Unlike a lot of other play by play announcers I actually played college basketball at a high level. 💯

Mark Jones wasn't making it up on the Kings broadcast last night, Doug Christie and the Kings ranked really well on after time out play efficiency last season. cc @markjonesmotion.bsky.social hoopsjunkie.io/stats/2025-2...

I switched to Brooklyn vs Celtics and I'm glad I did to catch the MPJ heater and see Mikel Brown Jr has his first big NBA moment (not talking about the missed layup). But what happened in New York. Detroit were looking good early, that's some kind of run from the Knicks!

The HoopsJunkie scoring runs are calculated and updated live and when one is active there's a subtle pulsing animation. Sometimes you will see a run appear to end, only to see it revived when a team continues to pile on points.

I absolutely hate this macOS Spotlight which was added in Tahoe. It never shows the same apps twice. Give me back the home-screen-style view which I could organise and memorise app locations from. Or at least let me disable Spotlight and revert to the home screen view. (

Anthony Edwards is set undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and is likely to miss up to two months per Shams Charania. We will be tracking how the Timberwolves fare with and without him here: hoopsjunkie.io/injuries/202... Also, is this season cursed or something?

This was a tough one to have to post. Taking AJ Griffin and Kobe Bufkin in consecutive drafts at picks #16 and #15 in '22 and '23 really set the Hawks back.

hoopsjunkie.io@hoopsjunkie.io

ICYMI, Kobe Bufkin recently signed a two-way deal with Utah after the Jazz waived Blake Hinson. Bufkin was selected 15th in the 2023 NBA draft by the Atlanta Hawks and will now play alongside the 16th pick in that draft, Keyonte George. hoopsjunkie.io/transactions...

Another place to view Scoring Runs on @hoopsjunkie.io in on the player game page. We have the same rotation stints + scoring runs from the box score rotations and you can click them to filter this page by the same runs. Check out Luka here closing out the win vs Utah.

Just pushed a big update to @hoopsjunkie.io on the web which adds "scoring runs" to the box score page. You can see scoring runs in the margin chart and rotations view. Hover to see details and click to filter nearly every stat on the page for just that run.

For example, here is the box score showing the Warriors 33-13 run against Denver, which was 9:26 long spanning the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Scoring run filters can be cleared by clicking the same run bar again, clicking the floating (x) down the bottom, or unselecting it in the dropdown at the bottom.

I'm working on rolling this out on mobile so stay tuned if that interests you. Big shout out to @pivotfade.com for the concept behind this. Lots of former PivotFade users have requested this feature. I've tried my best to add my own unique take on it. Hope you all dig it.

The NBA has reached deals with Kalshi and Polymarket to make them the league's preferred prediction markets partners. The companies can now use NBA IP on their platforms, while the NBA gets right of approval on markets that they offer. That and more: www.nytimes.com/athletic/772...

Somewhere right now an NBA exec is probably observing my work on HoopsJunkie and instead of appreciating how I've taken raw, poorly formatted data and transformed it into a highly user-friendly UI that's approachable for fans at all levels of interest, they are plotting how to shut me down.

I'd love it if I didn't have to create HoopsJunkie. It would be amazing if the NBA actually invested in their web presence. Instead, their website seems to have fallen in to the hands of ad sales execs. I've been a paying league pass subscriber since 2008 and yet I still see ads everywhere. WTAF!?

I'm super grateful to all the people out there who are using and enjoying HoopsJunkie and I'm stoked that many of you are enjoying it and finding it useful. I appreciate all the feedback and feature suggestions. Keep 'em coming!

Working on adding scoring runs at the moment. Hoping to make this a super interesting, kick arse feature that builds on the foundation laid by PivotFade (RIP).

Tons of tuning still to go both in terms of recognising runs and how they're displayed but here is literally a first draft. This is from Atlanta's franchise record 47-point victory over Charlotte.

Hate this for anyone but J-Dub was looking great this season after a prolonged stretch not looking like himself following multiple injuries.

There is an anonymous user out there who has been sending me the most detailed, useful feedback since the very first HoopsJunkie iPhone beta went out and I just want to say: Whoever you are, thank you! 🙏

Trevon Brazile played in 20 consecutive minutes after checking in with 2:06 remaining against New Orleans. Check out his impact as measured by Hollinger’s game score metric.

I have just submitted @hoopsjunkie.io release 1.0.9 which includes a fix for a major Android bug where it wasn't possible to scroll down on the main scoreboard screen once you swiped left or right. Apologies to anyone who experienced this bug but a huge thanks to those who reported it.

The app went through beta testing during the WNBA season and there were rarely days with enough games that anyone needed to scroll down so unfortunately, I missed this one. Sorry!

According to the NBA.com/stats in their single game this season Nikola Jokic had 44 potential assists and Jamal Murray had 41 potential assists. That seems absurdly high. Especially since Braun had 21 and Alpha Diallo had 17.

I'm really going to miss being able to share individual game clips of things I notice during NBA games. I had some timestamps ready to go to tweet out some Hawks highlights but it looks like NBA has very recently stopped publishing these plays.

I think it's completely fair for the NBA to restrict access to its IP, especially since many content creators have developed automated pipelines to create highlight clips. ZH Highlights takes it to the extreme with AI-generated voice overs and thumbnails.

Flemings assists on Wiggins 3s are not making this predicament any easier to resolve. I continue to love this Hawks rotation. I'm so used to the bench being a big step down from the starters but this 2nd unit is very solid.

I can’t decide if Aaron Wiggins or Kingston Flemings are my new favourite Hawk. Onsi has cooked.

These widgets will be available to all users, so you can follow your favourite team even with the completely free version of the app.

Incredible sequence for the Thunder, Chet stuffs a dunk at one end and Jalen Williams slams home an alley-oop at the other. Building goes nuts

In the modern NBA, should we really be assigning a 1% chance of victory before the 2nd quarter is even finished? The lowest chance of victory the @hoopsjunkie.io model assigned the 76ers was 6.1% at this same point of the game with Philly down 29.
