I never wanted my life to be this way, post-trauma. I fear for my safety. I mourn the life I thought we’d have. I have not had a full day of peace without one of the following: fear, anxiety, anger, or grief. I wasn’t given much of a choice. Survival meant letting go.

I feel sad for them because they genuinely lack the self-awareness needed to recognize their wrongs, and unfortunately, we all feel the consequences of that. Especially around holidays when the absence of someone who ‘should’ be there feels glaringly disappointing.
