In a weirdness tonight, the question came up as to which one would prefer, a Buffalo Gal, Sioux City Sue, or a Gal from Kalamazoo. My cousin John's answer: a gal from Kalamazoo, which is what he snagged back many decades ago. Sorry, you have to be rather old to understand the song references.

Weird! How is it possible that spell check doesn't know that Maundy Thursday is a thing? My two favorite services of each year are Ash Wednesday and Maundy Thursday.

UK1940s radio just played Burl Ives ("Frog Went a Courtin'"). When I was five or six, I wanted to be Burl Ives. Later, when I was about 18, I thought perhaps I'd settle for being Pete Seeger. Instead, I got to be a physical chemist.

Are there any grammar nerds still here? If so, please tell me when _not_ using a possessive before a gerund became acceptable. I spend way too much time yelling at the TV these days, correcting people's grammar ignorance.
