This week the Task Force on Education Funding visited LKSD school sites. Beyond the deep and overwhelming feeling of homesickness I felt on that first whiff of tundra tea, it has been an informative opportunity for myself and many of my colleagues (we brought Rs and Ds). Thank you Alaska.

According to DOT data, the most dangerous corridor in Anchorage is Gambell/Ingra; but, what is noticeably absent from local & state transportation plans? Fairview Bypass. It's gut wrenching to see this boondoggle added back in at the sacrifice of decades long road safety projects.

PhD advice that is proving to be ridiculously helpful: Set aside at 2 hours everyday to write with no interruptions. It is achievable, enough time to dig into a section or write an annotated bibliography for a reference...and once the buzzer sounds, you feel a deep sense of accomplishment.
