Y'all know me, still the same old Jeezy, but I been low key One configuration file; the same window management behavior on Windows, macOS, and Linux "komorebi for KDE when?"

I'm still around, but working on things in the physical world where I don't have to deal with people always taking LLM shortcuts without attempting to develop any kind of understanding or mastery * Learning how to sew, mend and design my own clothes 🪡 * Starting to git gud at dancing Balboa 🕺

Also I've been playing Onimusha, the only game since 2019 that has been able to hold a candle to Sekiro

Taking recommendations for books / media where someone has to rebuild their life from scratch in their late 30s

I wonder if I can go a month without experiencing yet another first hand example of this Likely impossible

It will always be wild to me just how many doors open for you to fail upwards if you are a white man or woman in tech

My inbox is now filling up with spam like this from ".shop" email addresses inquiring about buying @notado.app Pretty sure this is spam - have any other small SaaS founders been receiving these emails?

Computers and programming feel so boring in the LLM age These days I'm enjoying amateur cinematography and dancing

Things fall apart specifically on the days when I think it might be alright to sleep in

There is also an alarmingly high tolerance for racist commentary on Hacker News these days It also has social norms against calling out someone for engaging in racism, genocide denial, Sinophobia, Islamophobia etc. Over the years I've watched it become a place where ignorance is the norm

Hacker News has an alarmingly high tolerance for slop content these days It also has social norms against accusing something of being written with AI, which means the community has trouble strengthening its immune system against that slop

the idiocy continues: turns out Photos Legacy doesnt allow browsing sibling files if launched from anything but explorer.exe so i also made my own image viewer 😅 faster and lighter than Photos Legacy and loads more format also "komorebi-aware" and fetches file sorting from my image editor

i might be doing something dumb 😅

wallflasher is a VERY blunt and unsophisticated tool to solve a delicate and non-trivial problem its a thousand lines of C++ code by someone who shouldnt be writing C++ it uses Serge Zaitsev's cool jsmn to parse komorebi's wm events, and draws bitmaps onto a huge window but it works 🤷‍♀️

been enjoying @lgug2z.com's komorebi tiling wm i like individual wallpapers for workspaces, and komorebi supports that Windows' Wallpaper API, however, is… very Microsoft swapping wallpapers takes easily a second+ on my PC so i wrote another tool for myself lmao 😅 github.com/shinmai/wall...

The level of Sinophobia that comes out on any Western website the moment the conversation comes to China’s firewall is wild

Dancing feels like my last link to sanity For a time I tried developing a notation system to write out choreography I wanted to model without actually having to dance every time, to visualize what fits together Now I realize if I had done that, my last link to sanity would have been lost

I wanna open a gym where the only sound on the speakers is nawha and latmiya, and the dress code is loose, flowy awra-covering clothing The pump would be out of this world

> Testing story is unclear/likely thin: Repository metadata indicates no obvious test suite Uhh, literally just a search away, you can find every "mod tests" across the codebase. github.com/search?q=rep...

No problem, but that's not really jj way of doing it. I create a new revision and make all the adjustments in that revision and then run jj absorb (A key in jjui) which moves all the changes to the relevant revisions. Try it!

Why is there not a single jujutsu UI that just let's me hit return or o to switch to a rev when I'm browsing the history???

Like I don't want to SELECT a revision and then do an operation on it I JUST WANT TO SWITCH TO A REV

The thing I love about the Komorebi License is that my fellow workers can use their collective bargaining power to act as decentralized license enforcement agents Submit an expense reimbursement request at work, it'll probably get auto-accepted, and that's pretty much it 🎉

so i like yours a lot more because it has FUCKING NUMBERS! @lgug2z.com has a FUCKING COOL AS SHIT LICENSE THAT IS ACTUALLY ENFORCED AND VALID he is a huge inspiration

I gave it a fair shot for 2 months at work since it was already in use, but today I made the executive decision to completely migrate all my owned infra from Pulumi to Terraform Constraints enforced by DSLs usually exist for a good reason, as is the case here
