SanHolo v0.6.0 is out 😄 My Replicant Space client now has the Bridge cockpit with the galaxy map, goals instead of hand-holding the bot, and it mines every free resource. Still rough in places, I would love your feedback. github.com/lhaig/SanHolo/releases/tag/v0.6.0

Thanks to everyone who is reporting bugs and improvements. I have been able to add almost all of the suggestions to the app. #NectviaNews

I think LinkedIn has lost its way. My feed is full of suggested posts, influencers selling snake oil and content I never asked for. Meanwhile, posts from people I actually follow turn up weeks late. So I’ve spent the past year or so building an alternative.

Nectvia is built around the AT Protocol. You can host your data on your own PDS, so you’re not locked into the platform. I’m also working on making it easier to bring your LinkedIn history with you. Private data support will follow when that part of the protocol is stable.

It’s called Nectvia. The idea is simple. Your feed belongs to you. Follow someone? See their posts. Don’t follow them? They don’t appear. Block someone? They’re gone. No ads. No algorithm deciding what you should read.

Scheduled from crier, my small Go tool that posts to Mastodon, Bluesky and Nectvia from Claude. If you can read this, it went out on its own at the time I set, with nothing running on my side 😄

Standing at an intersection in Amsterdam and wondering how there are no accidents, bikes everywhere no regard for the lights and cars in between

All my profiles now say the same thing. LinkedIn, Bluesky, Mastodon, GitHub, GitLab and here. Next on my list is getting Nectvia pages to show a proper preview when you share them. Right now LinkedIn cannot find anything to show.

I spent some time yesterday updating my profiles. Most of them still had me at StrongDM or Docker. I had to change each one by hand. LinkedIn, Nectvia, here, Mastodon, GitHub and GitLab. That is why I am building nectvia.work. Your profile should live in one place that you own.

I have just finished the migration of my apps from my homelab to infra on a hosted service so that it becomes easier to manage. This was much easier than expected and took only 2 days. The only non live stuff on my homelab is the observability stack so I can get alerts. Can’t wait to share!!!

Jemand, den ich kenne und der gesagt hat, er würde die AFD wählen, meinte, einer der Gründe dafür sei, dass es in Deutschland Schulen gibt, an denen kein Deutsch gesprochen oder unterrichtet wird.

I need some Design advice for my app. I want to use some of the features of the protocol to do messages, comments, blocking etc.. What is a best way to do this? Do I roll my own with in my own lexicon or do I just use the standard ones provided e.g. app.bsky.feed.post #ATproto #ATptotoDevAdvice

#atproto folks If I use the indigo oauth library is it possible to see the sites that I have allowed to use oauth ? My site autos ok but it seems the permission scope is quite huge. Any way to reduce the scope it asks for?

@ec.europa.eu I don't think LInkedIn is complying with the spirit of the Data portability requirements. I cant get all my data from their zip download functionality as they "allow you to view your media only still on linked in"

And they will only allow you to get an API for your own data if you register a dataportability business account on their site. They are making it as hard as possible for citizens in the EU to get all their data easily out of their application. How can you still allow this to happen?

@austria why are you letting scammers use your telephone systems to make calls? This is the only country in Europe I have been getting calls from that try to sell me crypto or try to tell me I have an account on some strange bank or that I have won some prize at a local supermarket. Seriously!!!!

Fantastic moves forward

One thing I love about this app is that you say some thing and then someone follows you and then you see they repost really cool stuff like rocket launches and things. Immediate follow back and my list of follows accounts just grows

I find the #atprotocol so inspiring and I have sooooo many ideas of what to build or bring back from the old web. But I am not happy to have all people’s data be available on the firehose. 1/2

We as developers need to think of their safety not just the cool stuff we want to build. We have a duty of care to protect that to the best of our ability. So I wait patiently for the smarter folks thank me to figure out private data and how best to secure it before I dive in fully 1/2

We’re fundraising to build everything we need to operate without Bluesky. Our €100,000 target will accelerate our goal of building a European app backend (Appview) and a microblogging app. Since last night over 282 of you contributed more than €5,000. Let's do this! fund.eurosky.tech

I find it strange sometimes when people are on a platform and use the platform but continue to fight the platform. You - could - just - leave and delete your account. No one is forcing you to be here 🤷‍♂️
