Concerns about the toxic effect of smartphones & social media on young people is a big issue for my constituents I’m working hard to: ✅ Bring local parents, schools and students together ✅ Agree a common smartphone policy in schools ✅ Call for tougher and enforced regulations

Really good to meet with Sinn Fein Reps inc TD Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire & MP Daire Hughes Grateful for their support for “Philomena’s Law” to ensure thousands of survivors in Britain receive the redress they are entitled to - and discuss support for Irish communities in Britain.

A real honour to meet the Special Advocate for Survivors, Patricia Carey, and a group of survivors from Ireland’s Mother & Baby Homes. Their courage and determination is humbling, and I’m proud to be working with them to support thousands of survivors living in Britain.

It was great to meet with Minister Norma Foley yesterday on “Philomena’s Law” to support thousands of survivors of Ireland’s Mother & Baby Homes living in Britain. I’m really grateful for the support I’ve had from her and the Irish Government so far.

I welcome the government’s decision to grant greater licensing powers as we work to boost London’s economy. This will give Londoners and visitors more opportunities to enjoy our world-class hospitality sector—driving growth, jobs and creating a stronger economy for all.

news.sky.comBoost for London nightlife as mayor Sir Sadiq Khan given new powers to overturn council licensing decisionsChancellor Rachel Reeves says the new powers will mean hospitality businesses have "the conditions to grow" and are not "tied down by unnecessarily burdensome red tape".

A great day of canvassing in the sun in Kelsey & Eden Park and a really good response from residents with lots of casework collected too! Thanks to everyone who took the time to talk to us! ☀️🌹

Top-quality childcare places boost children’s life chances and parent’s work choices! I’m delighted that two schools in Beckenham & Penge are amongst the first to get new school-based nurseries - and will support more schools to do so!

I’m delighted we’ve secured £725,000 in funding from Government for solar panels to be installed at Bethlem Hospital. Solar energy is cleaner and cheaper. It’s perfect for public buildings, especially NHS hospitals 🏥☀️🌱

Beckenham & Penge is where local lad David Bowie launched his music career. Today it’s home to a vibrant community of creatives whose work is increasingly sought by AI companies. I’m grateful for reassurance Government is working to protect them and ensure fair remuneration.

Today @liamconlon.bsky.social & I met with Thames Water and raised concerns of constituents affected by the water outage which left residents without water for several days. It was good to discuss the lessons learnt and to hold them accountable for the disruption caused to residents.

Delighted to have my friend the Rail Minister Lord Hendy visit Beckenham & Penge ♿️ Seeing the testing phase start on the new lift at Shortlands Station 🚝 Announcement that 707 City Beam trains are to have accessible toilets retrofitted 🤝 Thanking Southeastern & TfL staff

Today thousands of Londoners and visitors came together to celebrate St Patrick’s Day and Irish culture in London. I was honoured to join the front of the parade. The Irish community is a vital part of London, and today’s celebrations showcase its rich culture and lasting contributions to our city.

Incredible atmosphere as London is awash with green for the St Patrick’s Day Parade! I’m proud to be London Irish, and to join our Mayor Sadiq Khan to celebrate the enormous contributions the Irish community make to our great city! Lá Fhéile Pádraig sona daoibh! ☘️🇮🇪

Kicked off our first UK bus manufacturing expert panel today, uniting bus makers, Metro Mayors, & industry leaders to make our bus industry cleaner and greener By supporting manufacturing, we're boosting fleets, regional economies and living standards for a zero-emission future

Yesterday I introduced “Philomena’s Law” to deliver justice for the 13,000 survivors of Ireland’s Mother & Baby Homes living in Britain. This feature on @news.rte.ie tells Philomena’s story and why this change in the law is so important ⬇️

Today I introduced Philomena’s Law to support the 13,000 survivors of Ireland’s Mother & Baby Homes in Britain Currently, accepting compensation from Irish Government will mean they lose means-tested benefits Just as we did with Windrush, we must ringfence compensation payments

The Bill is named after Philomena Lee, whose tragic story brought this scandal to a global audience via the Oscar-nominated film, Philomena. I was delighted Philomena’s family were here today & I’ll keep campaigning until we deliver justice for survivors.

rte.iePhilomena's Law to address compensation access for womenLegislation to help survivors of Irish mother-and-baby homes now living in the UK access compensation, will be introduced to the House of Commons.

Delighted to be able to take a fantastic team from Beckenham & Penge Labour to help in Sittingbourne ahead of local elections! 🌹 We’re looking forward to coming back to support their brilliant MP @kevinmckenna.co.uk and Council candidates. Hoping for more sunny days like this too! ☀️

The first UK death from air pollution was in southeast London. It showed the need for urgent action. Thanks to Sadiq Khan for leadership on clean air zones leading to a 36% reduction in nitrogen oxide emissions in Bromley - and investment in a cleaner, greener local bus network.

Today’s report shows that ULEZ works. One year on, the ULEZ expansion is helping to: 🌳 Drive down levels of pollution 🌳 Take old polluting cars off our roads 🌳 Bring cleaner air to millions more Londoners.

Had a great time visiting the Beckenham Dementia Cafe at St Edmund’s Church today. The Cafe provides invaluable support and friendship for people living with dementia and their carers. All run by wonderful volunteers - and a very cute comfort dog!

Of all the crises the Tories left, the state of the NHS was the most urgent to fix. Our Government is working hard and delivering results - and delivering early: ✅ 2 million more appointments ✅ Evening and weekend tests and scans ✅ Waiting lists down 4 months in a row

Nice touch from Labour volunteers today. Knocked on my door offering the opportunity to feedback on local issues to MP @liamconlon.bsky.social . A nice touch, just how it should be. Never heard a peep from the last Tory, apart from when HE wanted something.

Brilliant to be out with fantastic teams across Kelsey & Eden Park ward today! We’ve had hundreds of conversations with a great response - picking up casework, and talking to residents about our Government’s record investment to fix our roads! 🌹

🎾 A pleasure to spend the morning with Lucas De Gouveia from Beckenham - who at 14 is already representing GB in wheelchair tennis! I’m really proud of everything Lucas is achieving - and looking forward to supporting him to access more opportunities to play sport and excel!

It was an honour to re-open the Beckenham Library today with the Mayor of Bromley and my friend the Baroness of Beckenham, Floella Benjamin. Our refurbished library will be invaluable in promoting education and literacy, and building community. Delighted to see it reopen! 📚
