For no particular reason I’d like to share my “golden brain” with the bluesky world 🧠 a few years back I had the opportunity to scan (with help, of course), process & 3D print my own noggin (at 40% size)! It was a lot of fun & only possible through the Makers Lab @ UCSF - thanks!! #neuroskyence

Come join an incredible team of early-career researchers working together to shape the future of ReproducibiliTea! 🌟

Join other ECRs from various faculties for a full day of open & reproducible science 🌟 We hope to see you there! Sign-ups for blitz talks and posters (old or new, printed or digital) are encouraged!

📣 Less than a month until our #Open and #Reproducible #Science Day for #ECRs @ UNIGE ! 📣 🌟 Free to attend 🌟 Hybrid 🌟 Prizes for best poster & blitz talk 🌟 Workshops and keynotes to foster discussion and practical skills Register by November 10 here 👉 fpse.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_...

Partages bienvenus 😊🔁

At #SNL2026 this week with 2 posters tomorrow (work from my DocMobility @ BCBL with @nicolaml.bsky.social + ongoing PhD work with @vborghesani.bsky.social :D). I was also grateful to co-organize and host the SNL satellite event for @smallworldofwords.bsky.social with Simon De Deyne on Tuesday 🧵

NoCe Lab@nocelab.bsky.social

Come see us tomorrow @ #SNL2026! 👋 Four posters from three PhD students, morning & afternoon, plus other NoCE members who are attending/volunteering! @snlmtg.bsky.social @licataae.bsky.social @srahsa.bsky.social @alessahausmann.bsky.social

The satellite event brought together 15+ language teams from around the 🌍, allowing collaborators to meet, learn from each other, & ultimately establish guidelines for the community... plus, most importantly (in my opinion), plenty of ideas for cross-language and cross-modality collabs 🤟🗣️

tl;dr = my #SNL2026 includes 2 posters + 1 satellite event + 1 toddler refusing sleep... resulting in a PhD student who is running off of pure excitement for these projects, all the presentations & knowledge shared over the course of this week, plus the chance to meet colleagues new & old! 🌟

It took us more than ten years, but the new Small World of Words website is now live with better feedback and comparisons across languages. Play a game of word associations and learn what you share with others. smallworldofwords.org

I built a website that tracks open source tools that provide automated checks for scientific manuscripts: lakens.github.io/automated_re... It provides a summary through RSS feed that you can subscribe to. It tracks 13 repositories - if you want your repo to be included, let me know!

Excellent news! Nature is expanding Registered Reports to all the fields in which they publish! A great result by all those proposing this strong solution to publication bias and selective reporting (and getting expert feedback before data collection)! www.nature.com/articles/d41...

See you there! ☕

If you (like me!) feel uneasy about the societal consequences of big AI firms, their lock on your data, etc, you can now run an LLM locally one one beefy GPU or MacBook Pro, that’s just insanely capable (will feel close to Claude like 6-12 months ago for many tasks). qwen.ai/blog?id=qwen...

qwen.aiQwen StudioQwen Studio offers comprehensive functionality spanning chatbot, image and video understanding, image generation, document processing, web search integration, tool utilization, and artifacts.

Please join us this Friday and ask all your burning questions about hypothesis testing & stats within a relaxed setting! See you there! ⭐☕

Our new preprint is now on bioRxiv: doi.org/10.64898/202... There’s been a long-standing conflict about the role of angular gyrus in semantic processing: Why is it more active for concrete than abstract semantics? Does it play any role in abstract concepts despite its less activation?(part 1 of 3)

Grateful to have been part of the development of this tool! ⭐ Try it out here: www.winrepo.org/transparency...

How transparent is your research funder? 🧐 In our latest work we introduce the Transparent Reporting Scale (TRS) to evaluate how funders report grant data. It's time for standardized transparency to bridge the "scissor-shaped curve" in neuroscience. www.frontiersin.org/journals/com...

Key points of the review include: cross-language semantic representations converge with more L2 experience (likely process/experience-dependent); includes unimodal + bimodal #multilinguals; evaluation of open code and data across studies to highlight transparency issue in the field #openscience

We reviewed 163 studies (1990–2023) applying #fMRI, #fNIRS, #EEG, and/or #MEG to ask: How is multilingual experience quantified? Which paradigms are used? What do we learn about neural mechanisms of lexico-semantics in multilinguals?
