LinesCAD now successfully running on Windows! Now last thing is figuring out how to write a launch script that handles the conda environment, then we're ready to package!

Is it uglier than on Linux? Yes, there is no way not to agree 馃槄 But 1) there will be themes and 2) certainly Qt with "default" theme can do better than that, I'll investigate.

Started working on packaging! We can now produce AppImages and deb packages (still fairly "dirty" for #debian standards, but that will get better over time). Next in line: Windows and BSD packages. With all that done, I guess we could do a first release, to see how that works out there!

Goodies in this week: hide/show/isolate commands are done, and we have a brand-new properties panel that follows the same layout/contents as the viewer @thinkMoult@mastodon.social is doing for IfcOpenShell

Worked this week on: documentation & I'm redoing most of the modules system. It now scans modules (plugins) at startup for things like file types support, menus, commands, etc. The idea is to make plugin development as hassle-free as possible. No "registering", no rules to follow, no nothing!

New stuff in LinesCAD this week: select all/select none/select parent/select children. This permits a very cool navigation through the structure of the file. Also, close/close all commands are now working!

Besides this, lots of internal changes, all the Coin code is now removed from the IFC loader, and objects names in both the Qt tree and the Coin view now have (finally!) proper, file-dependant names, so everything work seamlessly with several files open. Now on to document all that :)

Bi-directional selection system is now complete. (Selecting in Coin is surprisingly easier than I first thought!) You can now select in the tree or in the 3D view, everything gets highlighted correctly.

+ Next steps are allowing to select parent objects, allow multiple selection, and (dreaded) find out how to customize the coin viewer's mouse actions without using scary XML files!

Almost done with selection system. I think you guys will like it. Simple and powerful. No subshape selection like FreeCAD, but built-in container selection (you can select a building, storey...) plus, I found a way to solve node stacking like we were discussing here before.

The IFC loader is back! The same one as the proof of concept for now, it still needs proper multitasking, progress bar, optimizing, and multiple files support, that's coming next! Also did a bit more work on the default light theme. Slowly taking shape!

Highlights of this week in LinesCAD: A new main window that can draw its own title bar (to save some screen space when in fullscreen, since we can now add stuff to that titlebar), and everything neatly organized in folders. Nothing visible/triable yet, but that's coming soon!

You are up to date.
