Fantastic presentation from one of our Froebel in Childhood Practice students. Thank you for sharing you work. #Froebel

Tonight I had the privilege of listening to Mrs Heggie who had been asked to present her Froebel project - Nurture with Nature Growing the seeds of Love. So incredibly proud of all Mrs Heggie’s hard work and passion to encourage our children in their gardening projects! ⭐️ @falkirkfroebel.bsky.social

A wonderful demonstration of the ways children incorporate their experiences in their play. These are children who know the story well, they have heard it many times and they are using what they know to re-tell the story. So many important skills being developed here #Froebel #ELCBeingMe

Some children have been showing an interest in building houses. We have been reading the story ‘The Three Little Pigs’. Some of the children have been recreating the story using block play. Encouraging creativity, problem solving and language skills whilst storytelling. 💛 @falkirkfroebel.bsky.social

Enjoy a powerful exploration of inclusion and belonging through a Froebelian lens with Catriona Gill! As our settings become increasingly diverse and the needs of our children increase, here is your chance to learn how a Froebelian approach can help us to deeply see each child for who they are.

Self-evaluation and reflection can happen in many different ways. It can also happen individually or as part of a group. Critically reflective practice is important to ensure we are always getting it right for children. #BeingMe #Section7RtA

‘Responsive and intentional planning approaches start with our observations and interpretations of the baby or young child’s actions, emotions and words.’ (RtA, Pg. 63) In what ways do you use observation to influence how you support children? #BeingMe

A really helpful article from @helwasmuth.bsky.social discussing a new translation of a letter from #Froebel with comments on the spherical law and the purpose of early childhood education. As always with Froebel, not an easy read, but for those interested in his writing, very illuminating.

My new #Froebel article is out! It was fun (mostly) to translate huge parts of his letter to Leidesdorf, especially his comments on the spherical law. It's one of the most concise and easy-to-understand descriptions of the law. Let me know what you think! @intfroebelsociety.bsky.social

This perfectly demonstrates the power of open ended materials like blocks to enable children to represent their ideas symbolically. These children are telling a story about their knowledge and experience of the world. #BlocksRock

When I asked two of my little learners to tell me about their model I was not expecting this. “It’s the internet. That’s the line where it goes to take the information to the houses.” Children are marvellous aren’t they? #EYFS #EduSkyPrimary #EduSky #PlayIsTheWay

Welcoming a new baby into the family is cause for celebration - but can also create anxiety for older siblings. What will the baby be like? And how will this new arrival change my world? My family? (Thread 🧵)

I have been put in charge of block play and construction in our open plan P1/2 area and it is the best thing to be in charge of. I love observing the children collaborating to create something new and the stories that go with them are amazing! #PlayIsTheWay #EduSkyPrimary
