The effort required for the transition would be merely a matter of technical routine. GPS and automated software updates could facilitate some aspects of the adjustment; however, the definitive establishment and coordinated implementation of legal time regulations would remain a political task.

Since the ZUGFeRD format does not currently provide for cryptographic protection of the PDF file and its contents, version 1.5.0 offers the option to sign the generated ZUGFeRD PDF. This allows the authenticity and integrity of the delivered ZUGFeRD PDF to be verified against the signed original.
