I'm still waiting for someone to commission me a cover for a Central Asian + SWANA story 👉👈😔

I went to the annual book fair yesterday and was so proud to see all the covers I've illustrated 😭❤️. I was hiding in the corner standing there looking stupid when someone turned to their friend to say they were buying the book for its cover. I'm ded.

Hnggg look look! All 8 books were meeeee

There are more scattered among the new books at the fair, but I didn't get to take a picture of them all... Still... ✌️😔❤️

Hng I'm sharing this panel from the doujin I'm working on. Our boy finally gets to belong somewhere after a lifetime of sensory overload and being outcasted. 🥹 My autistic baby I love you.

I've been working on this fan-comic for two full months now... I feel kinda bad leaving BTSS on the back burner 😔. But we're more than halfway there! I'll go back to posting more history soon! #kabutomushi

Happy #PortfolioDay! 🐎🌙 I’m Lipika! I'm an illustrator and architect specializing in the art, architecture, and history of Central Asia. My primary focus is building a rich, politically complex Pan-Turkic fantasy, monumental architecture, and material culture. I also make travel sketchbooks! Hehe

And an animatic where Arslan and Vidaar first encounter Khusrow's moving city of Soxiana!

Lipika Vethaka@lipikav.bsky.social

An animatic I did for BTSS where Arslan first understood the law of Fratricide. Aysun had always been his brother forthmost and an ally, but even he had no say to the custom in the event of an interregnum. #OCsky

And here we have Arslan's rivals (brothers) L-->R / ⬆️-->⬇️ Khusrow-bey (doesn't count, usurper) Aysun-beg (Son of Nazgul Khatun) Şehzade Ulugh (Son of Gülen Khatun) Mirza Iskandar (Son of Shandana Begum) Arslan (Son of Nadia Hatun)

Quick studies so I don't forget how to traditionally paint completely 😭 #thumbnailsketch #practice

I might delete this later... But I want to ask you guys what you think makes my art mine? I've been butthurt all day about the openstreet map to manga tool because I thought that if everyone could draw architecture and backgrounds with a click of a button now, what use am I? What use are my skills?

Does it matter anymore if I spend hours on backgrounds with this tool around? Will people appreciate it or devalue it? Can they tell the difference?

I got my feet ref!!! 🦶 And somehow this latest spread became my favorite of the entire doujin. (Not necessarily because of the feet) #kabutomushi
