Kala Paint is out! I'm @olawson.bsky.social , professional artist for 15 years, then game dev, now wrote the painting software I wish I'd been using all this time. GPU-run creamy brushes, no subscription, no gen AI crap, hand-coded with ideas from artists in our Discord, and more added weekly!

"Daniel Keene" from the Silo tv/book series Couldn't resist sketching after S3's finale! I had Ashley Zukerman (Daniel's actor) in mind, but this is another drawing from imagination/memory practice, so likeness won't be a full match - hopefully the "feeling" of the character is there! #art #sketch

The S3 finale & penultimate episodes really hit me emotionally - I won't say specifics b/c spoiling S3 would be tragic - several moments tore at my heartstrings, especially Zukerman's performance If you watched it, hopefully you understand what I was going for, particularly w/ the foreground object

Also posted a process gif here: landylachs.com/sketchblog/2... I added the gif near the top of the post - don't scroll too far past the gif if you haven't watched S3, because there are spoilers where I write more about S3's conclusion (it's clearly marked before spoilers begin)

landylachs.comDaniel Keene from “Silo” | September 11, 2026I watched the Silo S3 finale & -penultimate episodes last Friday, and I loved these episodes so much, I’m still thinking about them days later! Because of that incredible finale (and penultimate…

Had a few conversations this month where "The Endless Forest" came up, which reminded me of this older artwork - it's two of my duskbirds drawn in an Endless Forest-inspired way, with the symbols on the forehead and halo Does anyone remember that game? Did you play it? #art #sketch #duskbirds

If you haven't heard of the game before, it was this novel indie game where you're a deer and communicate with other deer players entirely by in-game actions - there was no chat feature Iirc, the premise by the devs was seeing what emergent player behavior arose from a multiplayer game w/o combat

"Gorrik!... but fuzzy." Completely forgot about this Gorrik sketch-painting I drew at the end of August #GuildWars2 #GW2 #asura #gorrik #art #sketch

Spurred after chatting with a friend about GW3's "fuzzier" asura, after which I felt inspired to try drawing how a "fuzzier" Gorrik might look. I specifically wanted to see how he might look with an overly fluffy neck, alpaca-style. Results are mixed! But I had fun drawing something so silly.

WIP crops from an earlier commission After ---> Before #GuildWars2 #GW2 #charr #anthro #art #wip

Browsing some files and stumbled across these progress crops I hadn't seen in a while - I don't know if the refining stages are generally less interesting to see, but I've always enjoyed seeing those from artists!

I was clearing my IG as I saw I had the archive function now (I don't know if I was part of some A/B test, but I didn't have that for a while) - forgot I once drew this sketch of Eir! This one slipped through the cracks for my "gw2 art compilation," as it was unfinished #gw2 #art #sketch

"All these years later and I still hear its echoes in my head." "Solitary Sylvari" from The Festival of the Four Winds 2026 paintover warm-up of my 2018 painting to celebrate the festival going live today! #GuildWars2 #GW2 #sylvari #art #sketch

Not quite a sketch, as I likely spent decent time on the original – but I didn’t on the paintover, and wouldn’t call this finished Comparison is on my sketchblog - no direct link as the original has many errors I'm slightly embarrassed to show. But it's not difficult to find if you'd like to see!

More grayscale adventures! Decided I wanted to tackle more of Destiny's Edge, this time going for Eir Stegalkin and her trusty companion Garm :) #guildwars2 #gw2

ZliDe@zlide.bsky.social

Been wanting to do more grayscale stuff again and even though I might have picked the wrong month 🌈 for it, I think I chose a fitting character! With GW3 on the horizon I thought it's a good time to go back to the roots (almost literally) with Caithe 😊 #guildwars2 #gw2
