This from @lkoro.es will tell you just about everything you want to know about swap lines. It also complies with the rules for all swaps pieces that they must be at least 6000 words long and quote Bob McCauley www.centralbanking.com/central-bank...

I went out last night. Happy to report that news of London's nightlife facing imminent doom are overstated: had a superb time dancing, spent a tenner on lime sodas and watched two middle-aged bald men with facial hair get into a fight over which one of them looked more like Johnny Sins.

One former MNB governor chimes in.

What a piece of news to wake up to György Matolcsy, Hungary’s former central bank governor, has been taken into custody as a crackdown on Orbán-era corruption networks intensifies The case centers on €500 million in public funds siphoned off through opaque investments & real estate deals telex.hu

Definitely feeling more FOMO over missing the London performances but his 2016 gig in Madrid remains my favourite concert experience forever

I feel like I haven’t seen enough discourse about Paul Simon’s new live record from earlier this month. Two hours with a 33’ rendition of Seven Psalms! How excellent

Entirely susceptible to clickbait today: first an article about the need for an independent Scottish central bank, and now the Hasan Piker interview on the FT

I've drafted half a dozen posts about "becoming British" but the TLDR is that one really can integrate by taking an open mind and curiosity to most interactions. I love this country (in a non-flag-flaunting way) even if it is imperfect.

Sam Freedman@samfr.bsky.social

One reason England does so well is our second generation immigrants outperform their peers which is not true in most OECD countries. We are also very good at integration. And it's v sad that this is never acknowledge in debates on immigration.

Those drafts will eventually see the light of day. It ultimately comes down to inclusive vs exclusive nationalism. It is a misguided idea to think that one cannot "become British". Do I still struggle with some cultural references? Absolutely - but it's ultimately down to social practices.

Yes I'm very aware that I spent a vast majority of my time in spaces that were conducive to integration - a very international and diverse university community at @stedmundscam.bsky.social, then in East London - but I've seen many people not try, fail and complain about the peculiarities.

I love how the people crying "foreign-funded international meddling in our sovereign politics" have been funding other people's meddling in politics abroad. Burn MCC to the ground

What really intrigues me about all this nuttiness is how the stolid Christianity part coheres with the "and it's utterly wicked even to contemplate slowing down tech" Thiel-ist bit giftarticle.ft.com/giftarticle/...

This but with £6 for a Guinness zero. Yeah no thanks.

Marie Le Conte@youngvulgarian.marieleconte.com

posting online: yeah yeah voters do just need to understand that inflation is a part of life and often the least bad option living in the world: just paid £8.40 for a barely drinkable medium glass of house white and I am ready for Crimes

This and the FT signalboosting a McKinsey report highlighting the excesses of financialisation make me think that this is an insane timeline

The trip was going well until my Eurostar caught on fire and we had to be evacuated, then checked in again in Lille. Back in London three and a half hours late.

Ok fine some more. I saw some guys with a Super 8 and I had to grab a photo for @m-kamilla.bsky.social. I has a great kebab on a train. I had an even better cardamom bun off the train. I also cycled through wet pine forests and ate headwind for breakfast.

"when I fly from north carolina to california for my job I talk to chatgpt every part of the way" great. amazing. incredible.

"If we get to AGI, do you think there will be a significant improvement in productivity?" how about we get there first

Imagine being the ECB's chief economist, having 45 minutes with OpenAI's chief economist and your first question not being "so what is your plan to profitability?"

As I continue my mission to civilise, I have taken it on myself to call people out who e-mail me with AI-composed text. You're welcome.

Just saw a racer take a shoe off around mile 8 of the Hackney Half, do a shoey and continue running. The death of the global citizen is greatly exaggerated
