However, one of the most respected Ukraine frontline journalists published a different angle last night. Bohdan Myroshnykov, who has very good sources, basically said we cannot blame the U.S. for lack of notice of the ballistics, and gave very detailed reasoning.

I'm imagining being the person to design a banknote. And then you grow as an artist and you see all the little flaws every time you pay for something and there's nothing you can do about it and everyone can see it every day and oh god why

Me: making self deprecating dark humour. Me: wait, that's too close to home, now I'm crying. *Insert bicycle sabotaging meme here.*

In February 2022, not many people would have predicted that in May 2026 Zelensky would be waiting to meet his sixth UK Prime Minister.

In a few weeks time Ursula von der Leyen gets to congratulate her sixth British Prime Minister

Why did people think Ukraine might actually attack the Red Square? They're not Russia, they don't do killing random civilians on purpose.

democracy meta currently dominated by educated women, pls nerf

"Palantir CEO Alex Karp says his AI technology will lessen the power of “highly educated, often female voters, who vote mostly Democrat” while increasing the power of working-class men." Just saying it right out loud now. newrepublic.com/post/207693/...

I have new medicine. I get to have the bad parts of side effects and no parts of the effects, so I got that going for me, which sucks🙃 Two more months until next doctor's appointment. Help. (And I was told to keep trying til then, they might take a while to start working. I don't think they will 🥲)

FAZ: Norwegian intelligence anticipates that in the event Trump invades Greenland, Russia will launch a coordinated attack to seize the Norwegian archipelago of Spitzbergen

During Fiona Hill's testimony to Congress on Oct 14, 2019, she described how Trump and Putin discussed exchanging Ukraine for Venezuela. The quid pro quo was if Trump refuses to help Ukraine fight off a Russian invasion, Putin would not help Venezuela (a Russian ally) resist a US takeover.

Whenever I've said something along the lines of how 2025 was a horrible year, no one has argued. Nor has anyone mentioned they think 2026 might be better. Just goes to show. /thinking emoji

2025 wasn't that great but it's pretty incredible how much worse 2023 was. And I spent most of 2024 recovering from 2023. It wasn't too bad the past few months. And I have a lot to look forward to in 2026.

I didn't get enough appreciation for this tea pot in Facebook. I first saw the illustration while casually scrolling memes and was like Omg! Then, on a whim, googled it, and it turns out to be real?? and I am in active OMG! right now.

Mul mingi beebibuum lähikonnas. Sain täna uue tulevase lapse teada, nüüd siis kaks rasedat, augustis said kaks sugulast beebi, kaks sõpra suvebeebidega, tuttavaid veel hulga pisikestega. Enne pikk paus. Asi pole vanuses ka, laiemas ringis on neid kogu aeg olnud., aga miskit on õhus vist :D

I keep saying this but no one is connecting the dots. The war is to satisfy legal preconditions for mass removal *domestically* of Latinos (i.e., suddenly a lot of people are going to be “Venezuelan” for purposes of removal). This is 100% Stephen Miller…oil claim is to make grandpa go along

Josh Busby@busbyj2.bsky.social

There is no national security logic that would impel the US to want to do regime change in Venezuela. It's simply not that important. I'm not even sure wag the dog is the right metaphor for what's happening here. Seems like an insane misallocation of US national security assets and attention.

NATO is Russia’s next target, warns NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. “We must prepare for a war on the scale our grandparents endured,” he said. As long as the West sticks to condemning and offering thoughts and prayers, nothing will stop Moscow from making that threat a reality.

“A European intelligence agency distributed a hard-copy report in a manila envelope to some of the continent’s most senior national security officials...inside were details of the commercial and economic plans the US had been pursuing with Russia, including jointly mining rare earths in the Arctic.”

Poland is moving to change its laws to allow the military to shoot down Russian drones over Ukraine without waiting for NATO or EU approval. The government wants to restore rapid-response powers taken away in 2022, adopting a “shoot first, ask later” principle to deal with cross-border threats.

"Teadaolevalt on möödasõidu turvaliseks õnnestumiseks sellises olukorras vaja veidi kiirust ületada." "Ma teadsin, et olen seadusekuulekas. Aga tunne oli, nagu oleksin midagi varjanud."
