Grateful for a leader who recognizes the inherent value in people with disabilities. Looking forward to the day when such a leader once again occupies the White House. #ADA35

Governor JB Pritzker@govpritzker.illinois.gov

As we celebrate #ADA35, we reaffirm our commitment to its vision. Under my admin, we've made the largest investment in state history to support people with disabilities. Illinois will keep fighting against those in DC who want to roll back the progress we’ve made.

Love this guy! I’m here for every last minute of his show till May and most definitely for whatever he does next.

Open letter to every Republican Senator: Senator, you know what this bill will do. People will die. Lose everything. Are you so heartless that you’re willing to let millions suffer all in service to a petulant toddler and his billionaire buddies? Do the right thing— vote NO!

I have no words left for the depravity of this SCOTUS.

First they came for abortion.
Now it’s birth control, cancer screenings, prenatal care. The Supreme Court just ruled states can block Medicaid patients from getting care at Planned Parenthood. (1/2)

I encourage the Illinois State Bar and all other state and city bars to join the NYC Bar, come together and condemn this practice. This violence while evading accountability must stop.

There is no low to which they will not go. I’m with Sotomayor— this is the grossest abuse of their power perhaps ever.

Chris Geidner@chrisgeidner.bsky.social

"SCOTUS allows Trump admin to deport people to random countries with no notice" Honestly still can't believe that I wrote this headline today, let alone that the U.S. Supreme Court's majority did so.

Take 5m today to fights for your rights! Disability comes for all of us.

Brendan #NoKings@brendanvonbon.bsky.social

This has not gotten enough traction. Those with physical or mental disability are under attack by the DoE with a new proposed rule that will deregulate handicapped access to future buildings regulations. Please submit a public comment in opposition. We only have 3 days left!

Unacceptable. UnAmerican. This gross violation of a sitting United States Senator’s human rights, dignity and personhood must be condemned in the strongest possible terms.

So on top of all else in the midst of the chaos Trump is trying to get rid of accessibility requirements for people with disabilities in federally funded buildings. Don’t let this happen! Public comment open at the link below till June 16.

Alt CDC (they/them)@altcdc.altgov.info

1/3 🚨 The Dept. of Energy is quietly trying to gut building accessibility rules under Section 504. This rollback would erase protections disabled activists fought decades to win. 🛑 Drop a public comment by June 16 to help stop it: 👉 dredf.org/action-alert... (Mini history lesson below ⬇️)

Suspended for expressing an opinion? Speaking truth? Capitulation doesn’t look good on you, ABC.

Brian Stelter@brianstelter.bsky.social

Breaking: ABC News says senior national correspondent Terry Moran "has been suspended pending further evaluation." This since-deleted tweet is the reason for the suspension:

What an absurd result. SCOTUS is bastardizing anti discrimination law. US supreme court sides with heterosexual woman in ‘reverse discrimination’ case - The Guardian

Because he had the audacity to tell the truth— that FEMA should not be abolished? Absolutely on brand for this regime.

My Governor, speaking truth. It’s time!

The Briefing with Jen Psaki@briefingwithpsaki.bsky.social

@jenpsaki.msnbc.com: “Illinois Governor JB Pritzker delivered a speech last night in New Hampshire that I just think you need to hear a lot of… Because there is not a moment in this speech where he holds back.”

Where do we go from here?

Judge Luttig@judgeluttig.bsky.social

On this day, April 14, 2025, the President of the United States openly defied the Supreme Court’s unanimous opinion of April 10, 2025, ordering him to “facilitate Abrego Garcia’s release from custody in El Salvador

So like one of the supposed heads of MS-13 who was arrested in Virginia and then had the charges dropped a week or so later? Is this the kind of people we are deporting without due process in violation of SCOTUS order and the Constitution?

Aaron Reichlin-Melnick@reichlinmelnick.bsky.social

Marco Rubio just announced 10 more people were sent to be imprisoned in CECOT. They were flown there from Gitmo to be imprisoned potentially for life based not on any crime for which they were convicted, but on unproven allegations of gang membership with no due process. This is not lawful.

This is absurd and yet another example of this regime doing things that will hurt people. Projects that mitigate against the effects of disaster and build resilience in communities will decrease reliance on federal resources over the long term and should be expanded upon, not blowtorched.

FEMA announced it's dismantling the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities program—canceling in-progress projects and clawing back grants it promised to pay out. To be clear, this program was structured so recipients pay for their projects *upfront*, and are then reimbursed. (1/3)

Thank you Senator Booker!! 🔥

Cory Booker@corybooker.com

I may be tired and a little hoarse, but as I said again and again on the Senate floor, this is a moment where we cannot afford to be silent, when we must speak up.

I, too, stand with the lawyers and law firms who are holding firm against a tyrant and for the rule of law.

POPOK@mspopok.bsky.social

I STAND WITH Jenner & Block, @wilmerhale.bsky.social , & Perkins, against tyranny and abuse of power. To paraphrase Judge Coughenor, History will look back and ask “where were the lawyers and judges” at this pivotal moment. Right here. www.jennerfirm.com

This is insanity. It’s like a line from the movie Taken— except it’s real. I don’t and won’t ever condone threats of violence against anyone. And this thuggish behavior is beyond the pale.

BREAKING: On the Daily Beans podcast this week, our #GoodTrouble segment was to call Josh Kaul and ask him to DO SOMETHING about Elon buying votes in Wisconsin. Well, guess what #Leguminati ? www.wkow.com/news/state/w...

One of the reasons I’m proud to call Illinois home.

Governor JB Pritzker@govpritzker.illinois.gov

To anyone living in a state that doesn't respect you for who you love or who you are: Illinois has a place for you. You are seen, you are celebrated, you are protected, and you are welcome here in our state.

Grateful to AG Raoul and the other AGs for standing up for our children and our future.

Indivisible Chicago-South Side@indivchisouth.bsky.social

#SaveOurSchools: Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul and 20 other state attorneys general are asking a federal judge to immediately halt President Donald Trump’s efforts to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education. Thank you AG @kwameraoul.bsky.social! Read the story in #HydeParkHerald:

Hegseth should resign or be removed immediately. He can’t put this off on some journalist— he is SecDef and he is responsible. He clearly is unwilling to accept responsibility and has shown he is unfit to lead. Remove him now.

Kristi Noem has no idea what FEMA does and has no business overseeing its operations, much less calling for its dismantling. Real people will suffer and die if this happens! 1/2

More of this please! We are strong when we stand up and stand together!

Brian Tyler Cohen@briantylercohen.bsky.social

Good on @marcelias.bsky.social and ELG for not bending the knee to Trump. Good on them for fighting back. If everyone acted with this degree of courage, we wouldn't be in the crisis we're in right now.

Come on law firms and lawyers! Be a Rachel Cohen. Stand up. Speak out NOW— before you can’t.

Anna Bower@annabower.bsky.social

Do you get it yet, law firms? What’s happening isn’t an isolated threat to Paul Weiss or Covington or Perkins Coie. It’s an existential threat to the independence of the legal profession. You’re a fool if you think you won’t be next. Say something. Do something.

Bravo to this attorney for taking a stand. Hoping Skadden (and other firms) rose to her challenge. She is right — the moment is now.

Anna Bower@annabower.bsky.social

Tonight, hours after the Paul Weiss news broke, an associate at Skadden Arps sent a firm-wide email: "Please consider this email my two week notice, revocable if the firm comes up with a satisfactory response to the current moment...We do not have time. It is now or it is never..."

I don’t know too many judges who will take kindly to “I don’t care what the judges think.” Time for hardball from the bench.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Leavitt: "I'll quote Tom. He said, 'I don't care what the judges think.' But I can assure you that the administration is complying with the court order."

Hey Senators who voted for this—- you had one job. To shut it down. You think a shut down is worse than what they’re already doing? What’s worse is you said YES to what they’re doing - you allowed it to happen. That is not leadership-it’s abdication.
