Idk if this has been done before but I shoved two interests together to practise lighting but really I just had fun with it. #ffxiv

Shout out to the very fun customer that thought Batman not eating out Catwoman was funny because "Batman's not a Wendigo."

Frankly, after getting bought out, the most merciful thing that could possibly have happened is just killing Bioware. I'm still, like, sad they're gone but I'm also happy about it? I'd rather it be dead and buried than puppeted by whatever that company is gonna be now.

I want people who love the things I love to make NEW things inspired by the things we both love. And then I want people to make new things inspired by that! I do not want the things I like to be an Intellectual Property leveraged as an asset to make money just because.

Kayin@kayin.moe

It's okay if the things you love end and never come back, because whatever you love is (probably) still around! Especially when its shit like this like OH NO what's going to HAPPEN NEXT in the EPIC SAGA OF CASTLEVANIA! mfer this isn't Winds of Winter situation or some shit, it doesn't matter!

Unintentionally sorta interesting person that will stick with me of the day: reddit commenter not understanding why people would treat bans for "saying words" in global chat as seriously as they'd treat "actual cheating and exploits."

It's almost, I dunno, religious? Cheating is bad *because* cheating is bad. It's different to ruin a game by messing with its sacred numbers. Ruining a game by being so vile no one wants you around is everyone else's skill issue.

An episode of a show didn't get its dub put up on time yesterday. A commenter on its subreddit was distressed that some random wiki page with countdowns to episode release times said it was released and was now counting down to release time for next week's.

Wasn't even AI, just someone genuinely confused that a computer could say something incorrect. No thoughts in how the countdown might work (just a countdown to the expected release time). A computer was just wrong and that's not supposed to happen. This will probably stick with me for a while.

Short Horror Film Pitch: A young girl, probably about eleven years old, is taken to the Hospital. She's alone, but she says that her father will be there in the morning after her surgery.

I still haven't started the Trails in the Sky remake because I'm anxious about its new translation. I really like the original and it doesn't fill me with confidence that this one got patched after release because the studio just made up their own translations for quite a few series proper nouns.

I want one of those "faithful" localizations but English to English. Strip out anything that might not translate well or would need to be changed for better context and see how much you can ruin a work that way.

The Geofront crew knew ahead of time and waited to see what the official localization of some terms were gonna be but these (probably under)paid professionals couldn't even muster like a Google search.

Need a polite way to explain the hour limit on searching tcg bulk isn't "please search the bulk for an hour!" but "if you spend an hour doing this, I want to stab you, especially if you're the only one keeping me from taking a pee."

The hour limit is because, without a limit, people would sit (stand) there for four hours or more and, like, don't do that? It's very draining to be in customer service mode for that long without any breaks all for you to buy three dollars of cards.

I have an anime watch group where we watch six episodes, usually of a handful of shows, once every two weeks and I'm picturing us taking four months to get through the infamous Endless Eight.

The system really does make me emphasize better pacing, though. I focus on things worth sharing that are faster paced. Something like Full Metal Panic is hard to go with because that first season is either six months of all my picks or an entire year one at a time.

So if my opinions ever feel weird in what I think a show could skip, it's because some of my best anime time is spent where every. single. episode. is at a premium while I try to share stories I like with friends.

Whole episode on the diary, I don't even want to watch it.

Was kinda hoping we could skip the diary bit of Mushoku Tensei with half of this episode dedicated to summarizing what's in it, but it looks like this will drag out.

To be fair, I'm underselling how big of a moment it is precisely because I don't like it, lol. It's one of the truly memorable bits that stands out in the books for all the reasons I don't like it. It's not bad to adapt it and it's probably better to but, man, that bit is such a bummer.

I would still rather the story move ahead than spend an entire episode saying "and everyone I loved died!" and following it up with another episode "and this is *how* everyone I loved died!"

I teased her that she put Madeluna in a bikini she doesn't even have because it's cash shop only, so eventually she forced the bikini on me and then forced me to take pictures, too! (she didn't actually do that last part) So I used #gpose for the first time and I'm not good at it!

Trying to watch some old Always Sunny and a guy pops in for a bit in an episode and my entire night gets derailed by "is that the voice of ChatGPT in Internet Comment Etiquette?" I have no answers other than Erik worked on IASIP and the actor, Andrew Friedman, has been on the show before.

Both games I've played from the Rivals of Aether guys seem to assume the player's already mastered the game they're (let's say) homaging. While it's nice that they don't feel the need to handhold, I will say it makes them unapproachably difficult to get into, lol.

The important thing gacha has taught me is that if you make your game collecting anime girls, then you could have a marketing budget of almost zero and its fans will make sure you got Raid: Shadow Legends levels of over exposure. *And* people will be happy to see it instead of hating you.

I'm making a new Gacha game! It's called Super Omelas Brothers, it's the best game ever created, and everything in it is completely free BUT we *do* torture a single child with perpetual misery forever to fund it. So, like, slightly less evil than most other Gachas.

This wasn't as heartbreaking as getting Nefarion down to a literal single DoT tick's worth of health the night before they nerfed all the Cataclysm dungeons (and then absolutely rolling all of it without a swear the next day) but... Well, it gives a reasonable goal of winning before that next time.

I'm guessing it's probably an ego thing where I'd rather be one of the better players in a casual group than the reason a better group isn't clearing, but... probably not changing that anytime soon.

Oh, this one hurts.

It's prime material to abridge since they would've just wasted a whole episode summarizing it if they do just adapt it afterwards. I'd hoped to make it into Chapter 10 before a break. If 14 episodes then a break is true, I think that's impossible if we waste more time here.

It's sorta like having an episode where the characters get together and make a plan about a thing they're gonna do. Then the next episode they go and do that thing, it goes exactly to plan, and there are no complications. You don't need both of those episodes. You shouldn't have both of them.

With another whole episode on Diary / Bad Future we're probably not gonna get to anything interesting/exciting before a likely mid-season break, which would suck. We just spent an episode explaining what was gonna happen do we need to spend another doing that again?

This menu here on Discord fucking sucks. If I am moving right, it shouldn't change the option I'm selecting a time for.. Any more than like 15° right instead of just up should be "user wants to select time for invisible and not have to slide over the entire menu that's way too wide to begin with."

I get that it's complicated to do that but, as a compromise, get rid of it explaining what the hell Do Not Disturb is and the bar is like half as long and I probably wouldn't have any trouble.
