Only shaders that have been setup can be painted, since this is obviously shader specific. You have to set up what vertex channel(s) need to be written to, and give some context like "this is a color", and give a name what type of thing you're painting

So "hyperscalars" have loads of hardware in storage for datacenters they haven't even started building I was just thinking .. the first one that starts selling the hardware, slowly, could actually make a profit lol (and when the rest of the world finds out it would trigger an AI crash)

So both the US government and big tech are competing for capital. Because of this borrowing costs are ballooning for both. If big tech cannot borrow enough, the economy crashes. If the US government cannot borrow enough, the system breaks down.

And the only way out for the US government is to print money like no tomorrow, causing *lots* of inflation, which dilutes the real world worth of the debt .. This will create an international knock on effect, where other governments need to do the same .. So yeah, great. 🤦‍♂️

Been working on Chisel (3D CSG level editor) again now and then. I improved the quality of the CSG implementation a lot using uses exact floating point arithmetic. All black mesa maps can be now imported w/o errors. Chisel now also has 'water' brushes

This might be the most blatant example in existence of "rich guy who created a problem attempting to place the blame for that problem on immigrants"

I'm curious. People seem to really hate AI, but is this just for AI providers, or also for local AI's? Maybe you could use AI to automate processes that nobody would never do yourself/hire a person for? (e.g. write descriptions for assets for search Or automate parts of art pipeline (UV generation?)

coding AI get more dumb as its context gets bigger.. so the longer you work on a problem, the more mistakes it makes .. so at the end of the day when you want to wrap things up is exactly when it starts driving you crazy & you are forced to frantically try to fix what worked seconds ago 🙄

So I'm installing samsung magician because apparently there's an issue with samsung ssd firmware that destroys your ssd if you don't have the right version ... ... and the installer asks if I live in a GDPR country ... now why would it ask this unless it otherwise would want to spy on you? 🤔
