Trans people are not “fighting for unpopular positions that society isn’t ready for.”
Trans people are fighting to KEEP the rights we have enjoyed for decades.
We have been able to legally change our gender markers since the 70s and before.
Same with bathrooms, sports, youth, all for decades.
For profit healthcare violates our right to life. for profit prisons is a violation of the right to liberty. our whole hustle culture is a violation of the right to pursuit of happiness
anyone in public life take note: any kind of pivot to the center, such as, " oh, let's make some rules for the ice agents that they'll have to follow! " is going to age like milk. are you telling me they never had rules before, Cory booker? coming up a bit short there.

The medication stockpile bill is the bill I had pegged this year as the most important kind of bill to pass given federal threats, with a short time window to make it happen. Washington passed the same bill earlier this year.
It's so shameful for Newsom to veto this bill.

friendly reminder that nothing about ai is harmless. the data centers are accelerating the destruction of our environment, way worse than we already were.
One of the reasons Dem moderates should get solidly behind Mamdani is that it’s one of the best possible chances to show this kind of thing doesn’t matter anymore. Afraid of the Times calling YOU a socialist? Show em Dem voters are done with this shit

One thing that I'm increasingly coming to believe is that stories are going to be central to what comes next. Stories of the harm done. Stories of the great things achieved by government in the past. Stories of valor kindness and quotidian simple resistance.
it's ok to not form opinions about some things. in fact, it's good to refuse to form an opinion sometimes. you're often being fed misinformation about things you don't know or care much about. the more you know.
