I’ve been working on this small #embroidery piece in between my regular ones as a gift for my cousin’s bridal shower this next weekend. I hope she likes it. It’s a depiction of Sauble Beach, Ontario beach sunset, one of her fiancé and my favorites.

Since it was brought up, here’s some proof - YES, I do watch movies while I embroider! ☺️ my studio is a three season room so it’s hard to use in the winter, so I end up on the couch a lot. That’s why I started embroidering - something creative to do to occupy my hands when I can’t be in my space! ☺️💜

Applying the skills I learned last weekend in a #portrait art class. I’ve never worked quite like this, with slow layering and white chalk. It’s really interesting. #pencildrawing #pencilsketches #pencilartwork

Sometimes I finish an #embroidery, but then weeks later, it irks me and I just have to go back and figure out what’s not right. That’s what this one is. It’s not quite ready yet, and took some experimentation, but it’s far closer. Sometimes going back to a finished piece is a good thing. ☺️

Sewing a new #embroidery and checking out Side Story of Fox Volant tonight. ☺️ Something not many people know about me is that I LOVE wuxia media (martial arts in ancient China). #wuxia #sidestoryoffoxvolant

We are posting this placard at all of our offices and asking our union contract farms to post as well. We encourage our friends to put up similar placards at their business as immigration agents do not have the right to go on private property without permission.

Being chronically ill is not lazy. Resting when your body needs it is not lazy. Saying “no” is not lazy. Taking care of yourself is not lazy. Ableism teaches us to guilt ourselves for respecting our body & its limits. Change the narrative. Taking care of yourself is powerful.
