Small number? Im old, old enough to remember fighting against genocide and being told to f off by the Harris campaign, which is essentially establishment Dems. And then they had the gall to blame young progressives for not showing up and causing them to lose. When they were told to f off.

I love my fellow Democrats. It's just the small number of loud people at the top that piss me off.

Their voices and preferences weren't heard. They've been told to sit down and shut up and wait your turn. This reinforced that complaint. I don't understand why anyone was surprised that the younger progressives tuned out. The Harris campaign made a strategic choice and it didn't work. /4

They tuned out because their cause was ignored, they tuned out because the campaign reinforced the perception that their views were not important in the party. It's not their fault they tuned out, it's the Harris campaign. /Fin

To be more progressive and Democratic, were available. They asked to not fund Genocide, that was what their activists were working on. On the other side were Republicans and the AIPAC, who stated that anything less than a full throated support of the Israeli government is anti-Semitic. You can /2

Debate the two sides all you want, but Harris chose the side the AIPAC espoused. The young progressives could have made a difference in PA, MI, and WI. AIPAC made differences in FL, CA, NY, CT and MA. None of which were competitive. Young progressives already complain that /3

I see many posts calling for Jack Smith to be AG when the Democrats take over. and I don't understand. Why? Jack Smith had a job to do. He did not accomplish that job. He went up against a literal nobody in Aileen Canon, and he lost. Why should we give him another chance to screw it up?

This veterans day, remember that the Nuremberg principle was a thing. And that no currently active military or NG has refused or attempted to refuse illegal orders, even after a judge declared them illegal. This is the legacy of our veterans.

Just a reminder, in the army, they are required not to follow illegal orders. But the person not following it is up for court martial and needs to prove that the order is illegal. The catch? All orders issued by a president with an articulated constitutional power is unreviewable. SCOTUS said so.

I've seen people go crazy over drones in containers, and Chinese container ships, and so forth. Just a reminder that these were cheap drones with a 10km range. How far is our bases in Guam, Hawaii, San Diego, Norfolk, etc. from the sea? How hard is it to have a autonomous drone carrier sub

It has been clarified multiple times that the protections in the Bill of Rights apply to ALL people within the US's jurisdiction. (and in the constitution, except where specifically stated). ALL people, documented or undocumented, citizen or foreign, criminal or law abiding.

The news that the tariffs are just our trade deficit divided by imports shows their hand. They want to make government funded by sales and use taxes. Of which tariffs are just a form. Income taxes and death taxes will go away. Entitlements and most services will be privatized.

“At least 24 million cases, 310,000 hospitalizations and 13,000 deaths — 57 of them children — have been reported for this flu season, which began in October” -- for the flu season of 2024-2025. Remember this the next time they tell you COVID is just a bad flu. 1 million deaths over 3 seasons.

Going to post here so i can repost this easily. There has been no successful prosecution of the Logan Act. It is most likely an infringement of the 1st amendment. If they declined to go after Dennis Rodman or Elon Musk, what makes anyone think they'll go after Trump (or be successful?)

To follow up on the previous post's concept, if you fail at something, acknowledge it, learn from it, and move on. I've had plenty of failed startups, that's the life. None of the failures were solely due to me. I could make excuses and blame everything else, or i can learn and move on. /1

The first way gets me stuck in the past, and makes my next startup less likely to succeed. But makes me feel better. Oh no, XYZ screwed up our client relationship and we don't have enough other business to go. Oh no, COVID made our partner pull our first contract./2

Or i can go with we should have gotten a better account manager or we needed to work more on having multiple contracts. But I failed at this company, and I need to learn how to do better. And so my next startup has a better chance. /Fin

I don't get this rush to defend Merrick Garland. He had a job, he failed at it. Sure, he had opposition, sure, many of his problems were not of his making, but whether or not you think he was too cautious and tactical, the end result was that he failed at his job. /1

In the end, Roberts, Cannon, and Trump beat him. He didn't win, and so he'll be consigned to the dust bin of history. Nobody remembers who were the ones that failed to stop Hitler before 1936. I don't expect to heat his name other than as a target of a weaponized DOJ revenge op by Kash Patel./fin

I get that people on this site is celebrating the orange menace's failure to repeal the debt ceiling, but I'd like to remind people that the debt ceiling is one of the stupidest maneuvers by congress to avoid responsibility. Their job is to pass a budget. The debt ceiling lets them pass /1

stupid stuff to satisfy their donors, and then make the president, whoever it is at the time, stop spending mandated and budgeted money. It is a law that requires you to violate another law. The debt ceiling should not exist, congress should pass budgets and funding they believe in. /fin

You are up to date.
