compositor effects (compute shaders with Godot) aren't quite as scary as i thought they might be, although it's still kind of a pain. A bit more overhead than a fragment shader, making it less convenient if both are viable. I just really hope i can figure out additional data buffers tho

My efforts to use the stencil buffer in Godot were thwarted by the fact that i have very limited control/access of the buffer. Back to compositor effects i go!

This is my third time implementing the same kind of shader over and over, this time in Godot. It doesn't look very good either, but in part that's bc it requires a specific setup for textures, lighting, noise patterns, etc. and i don't have that rn. Also web compression fucks it up big time
