Luke Ridge (Commissions open)

Well, my word it’s #portfolioday once more! Hey folks!, I’m Luke. I’m a traditional media illustrator based in the UK. I specialise in #creaturedesign, dark and moody art. I have a little store for prints (link in bio) and #commissions are open. 🙂 #illustration #Graphitedrawing #Traditionalart

Smaug the Terrible 🐉 One of my two pieces for this years #Tolktober event. Come join the Tolktober adventure over on Instagram to see a whole world of incredible art. #illustration #Handmade #TraditionalArt #PencilArt #GraphiteArt #Drawing #Dragons #Creaturedesign #Tolkien

My second of two pieces for this years #Tolktober event. Day.20’s prompt is ‘Cursed’. I went for my own interpretation of the Nazgûl from Ralph Bakshi’s 1978 animation. Had a lot of fun with him. #Tolktober #Creaturedesign #Fanart #Pencildrawing #LordOfTheRings #Tolkien #Graphite #Traditionalart

I wrote a little piece about the current state of #F1 under the US corporate media umbrella. #Formula1 🏎️

#comics Star Trek: The Last Star Ship #7-11 Written by @jacksonlanzing.bsky.social & @collinkelly.bsky.social Art by @adrianbcomics.bsky.social & Hernan Gonzalez From @idwpublishing.com & @heatherantos.bsky.social Caught up and couldn’t be more impressed. Exceptional Trek from an amazing team 🖖

#comics Avengers Armageddon #4 of 5 Written by Chip Zdarsky Art by Delio Diaz & Frank Alpizar From #Marvel Big, bombastic, energetic issue full of rich detailed panels and page layouts. And WHAT a final page!. Really impressed with this limited series. The finale will be huge!

#comics M.A.S.K. #4 Written by @danpgwatters.bsky.social Art by @marcoferrarink.bsky.social From @skybound.bsky.social Another action-packed issue. Tense and exciting, each page is visually great. Ferrari is an excellent choice to sit alongside @pye.bsky.social work. Both are spot on.

#comics Alien Vs. x-Men #1 Written by @kierongillen.bsky.social Art by @geraldoborges.bsky.social Side story by Chris Claremont Art by Dave Messina The most dangerous creature in the universe meets the most powerful mutants on Earth. A recipe for destruction and some wild hybrids 👌

🍄Poison Ivy Cover 51🍄 ~Paradise is here~

Day 24 of #zombieskulltober ugh, this paper/charcoal combo was fighting me ALL the way. I couldn’t blend or soften marks, it would leave these harsh, unworkable deep lines. Just gross. I think I’m going back to newsprint.

Quali done 1• Kimi 2• Verstappen 3• Hadjar Kimi’s 1 step closer to his first world title. @scuderiaferrarif1.bsky.social lacking in the 11th hour to stop @mercedesamgf1team.bsky.social. Honestly, rather dull. 🤷‍♂️ Onwards to tomorrow. #FormulaOne #F1 #Formula1 #UnitedStatesGP #AustinGP #Cota 🇺🇸

Excellent thread. We have reached the point with AI where the powers that be aren’t even trying anymore to seem even remotely ethical or human. No more hiding, they’ve fully gone in for the grift. It’s about the theft, the greed, the sleaze. It’s about being easy and lazy.

And of course, Matt Rhodes' work was and still is always an inspiration - such a solid understanding of fashion, illustration tone, storytelling...https://www.artstation.com/mattrhodes

And ANOTHER! @scuderiaferrarif1.bsky.social show off this cool x-ray sort-of livery for this weeks race. At least this one looks somewhat unique. nice. 👌 #FormulaOne #F1 #Formula1 #UnitedStatesGP #AustinGP #Texas #Cota 🇺🇸

And another, kind of, I guess @astonmartinf1team.bsky.social bringing a minor colour change to this weekends GP. At this point the teams need to learn what a “Livery” is. #FormulaOne #F1 #Formula1 #UnitedStatesGP #AustinGP #Texas #Cota 🇺🇸

Some Nazgûl process. 💀 #illustration #Handmade #Graphite #Graphitedrawing #WIP #Traditionalart #drawing #monsters #Pencilart #Creatureart #Tolktober #Behindthescenes

Another one (kind of) 🎤 @mercedesamgf1team.bsky.social bring a fresh lick of paint for Austin. It’s a very, very, very, extremely subtle change but still looks smart. New livery it is not. #FormulaOne #F1 #Formula1 #UnitedStatesGP #AustinGP #Texas #Cota 🇺🇸

Next up we have #CadillacF1 with a special livery for Austin. A white and black (no surprise) colour scheme with special details emulating studded leather. Very nice. 🐎 #FormulaOne #F1 #Formula1 #UnitedStatesGP #AustinGP #Texas #Cota 🇺🇸

Unusual dragon design

Austin approaches. This weekend @haasf1team.bsky.social are bringing big monster energy with their #GodzillaMinusZero livery. A striking White and nuclear breath blue for the VF26. #FormulaOne #F1 #Formula1 #AustinGP #Texas #Cota 🇺🇸

Williams are bringing there #Marvel #AvengersDoomsday NYCC Car to Austin across race weekend (23rd-25th Oct). Just for the fanzone, not on track. Shame, lord knows the team needs some superhuman power right now. #FormulaOne #F1 #WilliamsF1

#comics Batman #13 Written by Matt Fraction Art by Matteo Scalera From @dc.com Cover to cover, one massive fight through the GCPD Building. Brilliant, dynamic panels that show the action super well. Nothing but Batman kicking butt. A cool intermission in the story.

#comics Star Trek #1 Written by @ifyoucantwell.bsky.social Art by @dennismenheere.bsky.social From @idwpublishing.com Wow!, that’s exactly what I wanted this issue to be. Big, powerful, driven by emotion. The story and art work super well together, can’t wait to see where this goes.
