Agreed And yet... This is a donor-funded institute making the donor-shaped case. Practical agreements, economic boost, youth mobility as an EU "request." Europe is much more than a trade deal, it was never meant to be a better economic arrangement: its bedrock is liberty, equality, brotherhood.
Should the U.K. rejoin the EU and reverse Brexit? Get voting! www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...
Laura Kuenssberg posturing is absolutely disgusting Privatisation reduced government costs? What about the numerous subsidies and bailous? What about the hundreds of billion dividends? What about the appalling state of disrepair? British privatisation what the single biggest scam in history
Reynolds is asked if the Tory privatisations of the 1980s were a bad thing. You'd think for a govt that says 40 years of Thatcherism have driven all the problems we see today, he'd answer with a resounding YES! But he doesn't And he doesn't mention public ownership once.

Banning donations doesn't remove the demand for influence, it may exacerbate the problem: it simply removes the legal channel The best route isn't top-down restrictions but the rules of the game: ensuring transparency, media independence, and that citizens are informed on who they're voting for
There’s one simple way to end all this - ban political donations. All of them. For the price of a packet of crisps a year - each. We can end the endless scandals of donations.
What happens when a country is wholesale, indiscriminately financialised? When financial corporations hold the levers to deadlock the country's entire economy? This is your answer: democratic power, entirely hollowed out But who knows? Perhaps the king of the north can rescue his broken land?
Holding Govts to Ransom JP Morgan boss warns of ‘consequences’ if Burnham taxes banks. Warns of capital flight, lower investment. Can't recall bankers objecting to bailouts, quantitative easing, subsidies. They want obedient govts. Who governs? People v Corporations.
